@Pandya @Pandya I am not sure what distinction you are trying to draw here.
@Pandya Teaching Hinduism has rules just as learning it. You and I cannot flout these rules.
@Pandya @Pandya It is not my personal discomfort. It is sastra - a universal rule. Not a personal rule. If the moderation on this site does not know the basic rules of the subject matter, there is no use is my arguing a point.

@moonstar2001 I understand your concern but note that Hinduism StackExchange is just providing information about Hinduism. This is not an Vedic site and it doesn't advice to rely on this site. It's always better to get guidance from Guru and Scriptures. In other words, this site is not providing the actual Hindu practices, instead, it's providing just an information about various topics on Hinduism :)

The accepted answer to this question is quoted from answerer's own blog. How will that be treated? @TheDestroyer @Keshav @Pandya @BhargavRao @AnkitSharma @all

Q: What is the story of Dhanvantari, the incarnation of Vishnu?

SuryaDhanvantari, one of Vishnu's avataras, appears when the churning of the ocean is complete and the amrta surfaces. he is the one who brings forth the amrta for the devas and asuras/ He is also celebrated as the god of medicine. But what is strange is, in Srimad Bhagavatam, 9th Canto, 17th Chapter...

@Pandya Not actual practices means?
Many answers were deleted because they were quoting their own blogs, Is above answer considered spam/advertising?

@SreeCharan the case of Nitin Sridhar is in my mind. I know that he has cited or linked his blog in many of his posts. Though they're help, I'll consider to draw his attention towards the policy of citing reliable/authoritative sources in answer.
@SreeCharan I mean the site is providing information about Hindu practices not the personal teaching/advance to you like your guru.

There's no need to mention your blog when you quote directly from scriptures. This site doesn't allow advertizing of any blogs. — The Destroyer ♦ Mar 6 at 9:06

Namaste, Though your blog is useful but we recommend/emphasize on citing authoritative/reliable sources in answers. Visit related meta postes: 1, 2, 3. So, try to cite scriptural sources (or quotes of Swami Vivekananda etc.) in the answer. Also note that citing/linking your blog in many of your post can be considered an overt self-promotion. Thanks. — Pandya ♦ 10 mins ago

Oh, I didn't notice that there is more than one accepted answer for content from his own blogs.

@Pandya Providing information about a mantra is different from providing the mantra itself. You are contradicting yourself. It is not just "better"; it is mandatory. I have made myself clear enough. Nothing further to say other than allowing hte publication of mantras is perpetrating adharma .

@moonstar2001 What u are saying is valid only for mantras from Agamas or the Tantras..The Agamas themselves claim that they should be kept secret..and the mantras also ,when explicitly given therein, will be mostly given in codes.. And unless you are an expert you won't know what exactly the mantra is even upon reading the verses describing it..
@moonstar2001 Agamas also say Vedas and other Shastras should be made public..And if u see the Kamakoti site, you'll know that they r following this directive.. they have given many Veda mantras, like Rudra Mantras Gayatri mantra , openly..They have also made publicly availble the Upanishads and the Puranas..but they have not made any Agamas public..

@moonstar2001 I think you're not getting my point; visit related/similar discussion on graduated site.

@moonstar2001 If there is a problem with providing mantra then we can think for making the post suitable for it i.e aksing for "how can one get mantra" instead of asking mantra :)

@moonstar2001 VedaShAstrapurAnAni PrakAsyAni Kulesvari |--Lord Shiva says "Kulesvari-Veda-Shastras-Puranas these can be revealed."The next verse then says that Shaiva-Shakta Agamas should be kept as secret. So,there is no problem in revealing mantras that r found in Vedas and Puranas..
@Pandya Your point is also valid.
