5:53 AM
@Rainbolt Which lantern?

6:23 AM
Probably. Lantern Control is a recent deck in Modern

1 hour later…
7:39 AM
@murgatroid99 That is an amazing deck.

@doppelgreener LSV made some great videos with it
(which I think I'm going to watch now, actually)

8:17 AM
Oh gosh. Just picked up a BFZ booster (and first booster in months) for Reasons while picking something up. Got Drana, Liberator of Malakir, one of the BFZ mythic rare legendaries. She's going in my Abzan commander deck. <3
@DavidZ I am not down with the in crowd! Who is LSV?

Luis Scott-Vargas, one of the best pro players currently, and quite famous for his videos on channelfireball.com

3 hours later…
11:14 AM
(Holycrap... and I got Undergrowth Champion, and the blue-black fetchland expedition)
I got the Undergrowth Champion and that Expedition in the same booster. XD

11:58 AM
@DavidZ Thanks David.

2 hours later…
1:58 PM
@doppelgreener Yup (murgatroid guessed it)
@doppelgreener Congratulations! That's a $220 card that will only go higher.

2:11 PM
@Rainbolt TWO HU--!?
[stunned]

In terms of cash, you can probably get someone to hand you $160-$180.
I would know lol
I sold a Flooded Strand for $150

I was thinking earlier "oh cool! these are like $50 or something..."
so I am still absorbing this news.
Thanks for letting me know. c(:
I think I'll hold onto this one for now.

2:26 PM
Well Champion is $5, so you can let that bring you down if you want lol
Drana is $9 despite the fact that nobody uses her in standard
Okay so, last night I took a lot of turns against...
U/B Tezeret artifacts and won 2-0
Jeskai Burn and won 2-0
U/B Twin and won 2-0
Affinity and won 2-0
Merfolk and lost 0-2

@Rainbolt Drana and Undergrowth Champion are going straight into my Abzan counters commander deck (which after thought I might make Gharu-based rather than Karador-based after all). :D
@Rainbolt Good work!

2:50 PM
@doppelgreener Lantern control is an excellent deck. Won a GP recently I believe, despite a couple of bad match-ups in top 8.
@Rainbolt Both Champion and Drana are cards that have huge potential is why their price is still so high. Also grats on the wins. Went 2-1-1 last night in standard win-a-box with Jeskai Tutelage, drawing a game I likely would've won eventually, though not any time soon, and losing against what was the shell of a Atarka Red combined with Myth Realized, Defiant Strike, and another white card.

@Waterseas Congrats (on winning in spirit, despite not having enough time to actually win)

@Rainbolt Just glad have finally built at least my own significant variant on a deck and having it be competitive

They called time on me one round and my opponent offered me a draw. I said "Hang on a second." and played Lab Maniac and then Jace Beleren'd myself to mill 20. Next turn?

O.o why offer a draw if time has already been called?

@Waterseas I'm interested to know how you don't die playing Tutelage

2:54 PM
@Rainbolt How do you mean?

@Waterseas Because I demonstrated in a previous tournament that when time is called, I can take the last five turns.
I guess they thought I would just durdle again
@Waterseas I mean Tutelage doesn't block or protect or remove anything, so what cards keep you alive?

Ahh, fair enough. Original variant ran Send to sleep and anger of the gods, as well as Whelming Wave I think it was? My variant is more controlly, losing Tormenting voices for more control, in addition to my unique addition of Humble Defector, which can be used as a blocker against pure aggro.

@Rainbolt This appears to be up to date list: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/tutelage-of-the-jeskai/
4 Main deck Radiant Flames always takes people by surprise, and its always so good, except against Esper Control

Lolz at the Ascendancy-Defector wombo-combo

Yep, only works with instants though. Am considering taking out ascendancy, because in most match-ups, I just end up boarding it out anyways.
Radiant Flames + Humble Defector is the reasl wombo combo of the deck

Ah, true
I missed that one
Oh wow
Then you Ojutai's Command it back

3:02 PM
Yep, though typically you prefer to do that with Jace
But Humble Defector provides another option

Narset seems like a crazy finisher
Against a monocolored deck, if you doublecast Treasure Cruise you might just flip half of their deck.
But I guess nobody plays monocolored...
It seems like a solid deck

Keep in mind, everyone's playing a fair number of two-color and three-color cards in their decks right now, so for the purposes of this deck, they might as well be mono-colored.
Jeskai black is like at least half three-color cards

Cards to consider: Seeker of the Way, Soulfire Grand Master
That's all I can come up with
Treasure Cruise makes sense over Dig because of your win condition

Unfortunately Soulfire Grand Master doesn't survive Radiant Flames, but the life gain off of it might be enough to consider. Seeker of the way doesn't work as well in the deck due to how many sorceries there are, and the fact that I don't really care about attacking.
And yeah, though some others ran a single Dig

Seeker does more than just attack. He gains you life, and randomly survives radiant flames when you need him to.
You just have to main phase your removal. Seems okay since you play zero counterspells mainboard.
Well, except ojutai's command

3:13 PM
Unfortunately he doesn't gain you life with sorceries.

Prowess triggers from sorceries

Yep, I know, but then I have to attack to gain life

What does being a sorcery have to do with that?
It'd be the same if you were playing all instants

Nope, because then I could block and gain life

true

3:17 PM
Seeker is definitely a consideration though. Monastery Mentor is also actually a consideration as an alternate win-con in a single card.

1 hour later…
4:40 PM
If you play black, Fathom Feeder, Crackling Doom, and Painful Truths become available.
It should be easy to play four colors considering that
Polluted Delta -> Prairie Stream, Smoldering Marsh, and Sunken Hollow
Flooded Strand -> Prairie Stream and Sunken Hollow
Bloodstained Mire -> Smoldering Marsh and Sunken Hollow
Of course, the manabase for Jeskai Black costs $253, so that may not be an option for you

5:01 PM
Painful Truths is an idea. Don't think I'd run Crackling Doom or Fathom Feeder.

Fathom Feeder gets a lot better if you decide to replace the two Ascendency's with Ojutai's Command.
There's a lot of value in reviving him

Would probably replace the ascendancies with Painful Truths if I were to switch to black actually XD Another option, if I wanted to go deeper, would be Ob Nixilis

I guess he dies to flames though

Bleehhhhhhh, IT is the bane of developers v.v

5:17 PM
How so?
The only time I ever interacted with IT is when I got my job. They added my machine to the domain and then gave it to me. End of story for those guys.
I was emailed the details for my MSDN subscription and installed the software myself
Cool bonus: I am allowed to install the software at home as well. I asked for permission and they said it was totally fine.

Recently changed computers, and the computer they gave me has Adobe Air 14.0 on it. Adobe Air's most recent version is 20.0 (beta), and there was a significant change between 14.0 and 15.0, so much so that it is impossible to submit an application created in 14.0 or below to the Apple app store.
And yeah, MSDN is pretty open.

So... you need to purchase a newer version of some software. Does your IT department also handle purchases?
I used to be the guy who said yes or no (mostly yes) when people made technology related requests for a university.

Not even purchase, just update, but unfortunately our network is a mired mess that it's not as easy as it should be.

Point being, this should've been up to date in the first place, when I received my computer a few weeks ago.

I made a flowchart for it. Are you important? -> If not, is your request reasonable? -> If I reject your request, do you make a fuss?
The final tier was "Okay, you can have it, but we will not support it."

I feel like that fuss part only matters if they're important XD

5:27 PM
If they are important, the flowchart stops there.
If they aren't, continue to the next question.

Yep, I understood

We don't even give important people a chance to be fussy

Right

Deans (the top business guy/gal for a department), Chairs (the top educational guy/gal for a department), some high up administration, and some people that could make our life difficult if we don't give them what they want
@Waterseas Maybe you could mention to your supervisor that you made a request, it is not happening in a reasonable amount of time, and you would appreciate it if s/he could make it happen in a reasonable amount of time. Surely your supervisor understands that not being able to submit your app to the app store makes your job impossible.
I say that, but I find my own supervisor terrifying
If you wanna get technical, its an "it". It may be humanoid, but its not quite a human.
I'd have rejected that edit if I had the chance to

6:18 PM
@Rainbolt Since when do gendered pronouns only apply to humans? For that question you could use its (meaning the card's) or her (meaning Ink-Eyes), but his is just wrong.

2 hours later…
8:29 PM
Bleh, I've never been emotionally drained from something related to programming before ><
Huh, Geralf's Messenger + Retribution of the Ancients + Phyrexian Altar is infinite. Theoretically works with any Undying creature.
