@Scimonster Now it's highest (tied with another that says "if we go with [another answer that's not highest], then…", which means it's not tied for highest with any actual proposal).

(But I've only checked net votes, not up- and down-.)

@msh210 Now, the low-key alternative has the lone lead with +5 net.

@IsaacMoses @msh210 @Scimonster and now the low-key alternative has the same net score as Yez's one-per-day proposal. The low-key alternative is +5/-0 while the vote limit is +8/-3. There's some voting disagreement on the other answers too, some supporting a limit and some saying we don't need it.

Three moderators are in favor of the low-key approach (the fourth hasn't said one way or the other that I've seen), and while I don't want to "pull rank", enforcement of a stronger policy is also going to fall to mods.

Last year's most-prolific poster has already said he'll be more careful this year.

So, my proposal to resolve this for this year, since the season opens tomorrow night: enact the low-key alternative, and if we see a problem, we can adjust to add a limit during the PTIJ season. I predict we won't need to.

Any objections to doing that?

@MonicaCellio I think we should not plan on changing policy mid-season. Other than that, no objection.

Ok. And on reflection, the most-likely failure under the "remind people but don't restrict" approach is that one or two people go a little wild (it's not likely to be lots of people), and if that happens we can have a word with the individuals involved.

If somebody were to maliciously post lots of junk -- which has never happened -- then we would have other recourse, same as the rest of the year.

Ok, revised proposal for this year: just remind people, i.e. implement the low-key alternative.
