@DanF 5+ years of grad school (with at least two relocations), plus my Hebrew isn't good enough yet, plus I'm drifting more traditional and it'd stink to go through all that and then end up in an Orthodox shul where it wouldn't be recognized because I'm a woman. [cont]
But most importantly: why should answers like that carry more weight from a rabbi? Isn't it better if "just plain Jews" can be welcoming and thoughtful and all that? We shouldn't delegate community care and good behavior to our rabbis; we're all responsible.
