@TedO, there's plenty of room to discuss how to interpret the various uses throughout Tanach of the word Elohim. Note, though, that in the context of this community, which is here to discuss Judaism, it is axiomatic that there is One God who is not, never has been, and never will be a man. It's fine to puzzle out how this verse or that can fit with that and other axioms of Judaism, but trying to prove that they, in fact, don't is a project external to Judaism and therefore not on-topic here. — Isaac Moses ♦ 37 secs ago
Not too heavy-handed, I hope? As always, I'm open to criticism.

@IsaacMoses not heavy-handed IMO. After his response to my previous comment I'd decided that engaging further wouldn't do either of us any good, but you found better words than I was coming up with.
Also, I made a small edit to my answer in response to your edit to the question, to which I have no objection.

Q: Voting System Halacha

DonielF If it's assur to add and subtract (Devarim 13:1), is the voting system allowed? The Gemara (AZ 26a-b) says regarding Ovdei Avodah Zarah that lo ma'alin v'lo moridin. Does that mean that you can't vote on Christianity.SE? This question is Purim Torah and is not intended to be taken completely...

@IsaacMoses not unduly heavy-handed, IMO

Hi. I know this may be a slightly odd place to ask about this, but I'm wondering if anyone has what to comment on two Yeshivas in Eretz Yisroel I am deciding between attending after high school: Har Etzion (Gush) and KBY.

@theideasmith I went to KBY nearly two decades ago, and I know lots of people who have gone to Gush. Happy to share what knowledge I have, such as it is.
You're best off talking to current and recent students, if you can get ahold of any.

@msh210 My impression of Gush's reputation includes: Brisker, intellectual, Torah UMada
@msh210 Regarding this in particular, I'm not an expert in the various opinions about laws of hair-covering, and I'm not aware of a particular position taken at or by Gush. (I probably wouldn't be aware.) Of course, there are various positions out there, some of them mutually exclusive, and all of them held adamantly by various groups. One could imagine an adamantly-held view that could result in such a comment.

5:17 PM
@IsaacMoses I think it was just an example. But I'm not sure what the generality was that it was an example of.

5:32 PM
@msh210 I'd guess something like ~"adamant adoption of Brisker-style, modernity-influenced, atypical, yet considered more authentic, practices"
