@Sarah i often come across people who were brought up with this idea that the Bible is God's holy word, and that it doesn't have any inconsistencies, and whether anyone speaks of it or not, somehow this idea that this perfect book was dropped down from heaven with no corruptions or politics involved.
@Sarah Once someone discovers most if not all of those things are true, they often rely on the idea that their must be some significance to the Bible being the truth, and if it's not the NT, then it must be the Hebrew scriptures, and they start looking more into Judaism. And then one of a few things happen, they either can't deal with how different the Jewish religion (whether Karaite or Rabbinate is) and they become an Atheist,
@Sarah or they become observantly Jewish and feel like it's their mission to continue to spread the truth to those they left behind, or to those that don't have it. But Jews don't really do that anymore. Because like Monica and everyone else points out, everyone has some crazy belief that they understand our own Bible more than we do. And when someone doesn't care to learn Hebrew, how can you explain what the Hebrew words mean?
@Sarah In the end most Jews are satisfied with the knowledge that if we are doing the right thing, others will see and will become more interested in Judaism, righteousness, justice, and compassion. We don't care about proving anyone wrong, or setting the record straight

@Sarah Because the Hebrew Bible has remain unchanged for a few thousand years now, and if Christians still haven't realized their isn't a virgin birth, or that lucifer is a latin word that doesn't exist in the bible, etc etc, they aren't going to learn now.
@Sarah So in the end, the only way to help spread any truth, is to live the truth. Study for yourself, ask honest questions, accept what appears to be truthful answers. Be the change, and let God do the rest. If he allows people to see the truth you are living be, then great, if not, then also great.
