So is anyone not ok with closing judaism.stackexchange.com/q/22539 as off topic, per discussion above?

2011 Abarbanel asks about yibum, Yehuda, and Boaz -- Abarbanel's 19th doubt in Ki Seitzei is about the incident with Yehudah and Tamar, and how that meshes (or does not) with the laws ofyibbum. Yehuda was a father to the deceased, not a brother! And how comehalacha does not recognize this as effective, patterned after Yehuda. Abarbenel's 20th doubt is about theyibbum desc

@DoubleAA The rule in the FAQ and the precedents cited above seem to clearly indicate closure.

@StackExchange @msh210 @DoubleAA @MonicaCellio, So no hats for us b/c it's a Christmas thing?

@IsaacMoses Done.
@IsaacMoses Who told you that?

4:03 AM
@DoubleAA No one. The podcast described the hats thing and said that it was ultimately offered to the mods of all SEs, some of whom declined. I'm just guessing here about what went down with respect to us.

@IsaacMoses Actually, because there is a personal opt-out option for each user which is easily accessible and very thorough, we decided to opt-in and essentially let each user decide for him/her self.
(At least that's how I understood where we stood.)

@DoubleAA So we're getting hats?

@IsaacMoses If you want them.

@DoubleAA Can I get one of those Bucharian kippot? My hair is too short to hold kippah clips effectively right now.

@IsaacMoses I don't have the full list of hats to show you so we'll just have to wait and see

@DoubleAA okiedoke

@IsaacMoses You can ask. We don't know exactly what all the options are going to be. But as @DoubleAA said, we opted in and anyone who doesn't want to see/wear hats can opt out.

5:46 AM
@MonicaCellio Thanks; I was actually joking.

@DoubleAA @IsaacMoses The decision resulted in part from the assurance that any individual hat (e.g., one related to Christmas) would need to be opted into by its 'wearer'.

@IsaacMoses well, I did suggest a kippah during the discussion, but I didn't specify type. :-)
