I am an idiot. I wanted to achieve 1234 rep, but just now i made an edit. Oh noooo.

8:37 AM
@Johannes_B should I downvote one of your posts so you can try again? :p

@cgnieder I was thinking about that, but ...

9:10 AM
Hello

@subhamsoni Hello

I want to implement a new command
a macro
For
the text to be of font size 14pt
and 12pt respectively
Example
\bfseries SUBHAM SONI S.
here
the font size is default 12 pt (as in document class)
so some kind of macro
prefixed to it
to make it 14pt
instead of
rewriting the
font macro again and again

@subhamsoni \large?

\large is 14pt?????

@subhamsoni Depends on the 'base' size

9:15 AM
thats 12pt (document class right)???

@subhamsoni OK, default in that case is 14pt:
> \large=\long macro:
->\@setfontsize \large \@xivpt {18}.
Bit tricky to read, of course!

didn't get you @JosephWright

@subhamsoni Loading with the 12pt option for article, the definition of \large selects a 14pt font size
I simply checked the definition to be sure

@JosephWright I didn't need to check. :P

@JosephWright for some definition of 14 :-)

9:21 AM
So now, with no further confusions, I need to put \large right??
Secondly
How do i verify finally
that my font sizes are
12 and 14
only
in the pdf

@JosephWright in amongst the pr state change spam did you notice this one? latex-project.org/cgi-bin/ltxbugs2html?pr=latex/3119

Didnt get you @DavidCarlisle
What is pr state??

@subhamsoni sorry that was an unrelated conversation to Joseph (we are both on the team that maintains latex) I just meant the URL in that message (note the pr=3119 in the address)

why latex is sometimes so drowsy????
@DavidCarlisle

@DavidCarlisle Responsible-Changed-By: gnats

9:27 AM
Even for small things we need to think a lot..... @DavidCarlisle

@DavidCarlisle Nice name

@egreg gnats is the gnu bug tracking system, like bugzilla but older and stranger

@DavidCarlisle Yup, very strange

@subhamsoni It would be better if you explained what you're after; for instance, this would make your name larger (13pt):
\documentclass[letterpaper,11pt]{article}
\pagestyle{empty}
\begin{document}
\begin{flushleft}
\large\bfseries SUBHAM SONI S.\\*
\kern2pt
\hrule
\end{flushleft}
\end{document}
If you need 14pt, type \fontsize{14}{18}\selectfont instead of \large

@DavidCarlisle I'd seen another one which was similar: I can see the point of the reporter here. Still stuck with the issue that \item or indeed \vspace is 'different'

9:34 AM
@JosephWright There also another one named mantis. :)

@PauloCereda I'm sure: the question is is it as strange as Gnats. I doubt it!

@JosephWright :)

@JosephWright gnats only seems strange as it predates the web (or at least predates most people having access to it) It still has more functionality than some commercial bug tracking systems that I could mention (but better not:-)
@PauloCereda You'd have loved the original interface, an emacs front end with remote access tunnelled through ftp

@DavidCarlisle No thanks. :)

@PauloCereda mas eu sei que você ama emacs

9:47 AM
@DavidCarlisle o.O
What just happened here?!
@David: who are you and what you did with David?!
:)
That's a perfect Portuguese sentence, I might add. Google Translate You did a great job. :)

10:07 AM
Great, forget Wi-fi turned on on your cellphone and see what happens: battery drained.

@DavidCarlisle Perhaps, but the business with getting the e-mail address right always confuses me

10:26 AM
@DavidCarlisle Okay, cards on the table. I know you guys don't like this kind of things, but I'd like to redefine $.

10:38 AM
@AndrewZabavnikov Please, do. Don't come here saying “it doesn't work”, though. ;-)

@AndrewZabavnikov redefining it is easy \catcode`\$\active \def${hello} it is just fixing everything that breaks that is harder.

@AndrewZabavnikov What do you want to define it to do?

11:20 AM
@DavidCarlisle this.

11:38 AM

A: Can we simplify the transformation steps below to save more keystrokes?

Herbert\documentclass[pstricks,border=12pt]{standalone} \begin{document} \begin{pspicture}[showgrid,dimen=m](6,8) \pscustom[fillstyle=eofill,fillcolor=red,linewidth=3pt]{% \code { /Arc /arc load def /arc { 0 0 moveto 1 0 rmoveto Arc } def } % head \psellipse(3,4)(3,4) % eyes ...

Does anybody else see Spiderman there? :)

11:49 AM
@JosephWright how's your xetex/dvipdfmx foo? latex-project.org/cgi-bin/ltxbugs2html?pr=graphics/3873

12:01 PM
@egreg going through unanswered still open latex bugs I came across this one, at least it's not as old as some as it was posted this century... latex-project.org/cgi-bin/ltxbugs2html?pr=graphics/4050

@DavidCarlisle I think to have already seen that one. ;-)

@egreg I'm not saying "it doesn't work". I actually know why it does not and know what I'm trying to get out of TeX, and asking how to achieve it :-)

@egreg yes I was wondering if you wanted to see a reply:-)

@DavidCarlisle Exactly! After redefinition like I wrote before, the nature of $ disappears. For example this does not work anymore: \def\abr{$} $12345\abr

@AndrewZabavnikov Well, I can't say “Don't do this” and then tell you how you can do it: I try not to contradict myself. Sometimes I'm even able not to.
@DavidCarlisle After six years, maybe just a reply. ;-)

12:06 PM
@AndrewZabavnikov well that's because you have redefined it not to have that nature. You haven't said what else you want to do,

@DavidCarlisle You're right!

@AndrewZabavnikov If you only ask in riddles it is very hard to help, why not make a proper example document and ask a question on site?

@Andrew: Hi! :) I'm sorry if I sound arrogant, please don't get me wrong. I'm just a TeX newbie, I'm very scared of expanding stuff myself. Are you sure TeX is the right tool for you? I mean, I don't get half of the stuff you guys are discussing, and the impression I have is that you are redefining the whole layer/interface, which sounds like cheating. :)

@egreg some older ones may result in code changes this time round...

@egreg Oh my, you are the anonymous bug reporter? I sense TeXleaks. :)

12:10 PM
@PauloCereda Hi! I think you're right but I'm stubborn to try to achieve the principle of not changing the interface while changing implementation.

@DavidCarlisle With the usual problem: will this break some older documents? In this case I don't think so, because people using .mps files in latex would have added that trick anyway.

@AndrewZabavnikov oh. :)

@PauloCereda .mps files appeared much later than graphics.sty.

@egreg Should we blame David?

@PauloCereda no

12:12 PM
@PauloCereda Yes, for not being clairvoyant. ;-)

@DavidCarlisle Should be blame Joseph? :)

@PauloCereda Ask the Great Oracle.

@egreg ooh that's fancy, it sounds like French. :)
@egreg Hold on. :)
!!/eightball Should we blame David?
@PauloCereda Psmith, the TeX bot: The great 8-ball says: outlook not so good.

@egreg what I'd planned to happen was that the driver files were picked up by <someone else> as happened with pdftex.def and Heiko and maintained separately to support whatever the driver supported, but in practice most of them are still part of the core.

!!/eightball Should we blame Joseph?
@PauloCereda Psmith, the TeX bot: The great 8-ball says: not a snowball's chance in hell.
!!/eightball Should we blame me?
@PauloCereda Psmith, the TeX bot: The great 8-ball says: totally.
I hate this bot.

12:14 PM
!!/eightball Should we blame Paulo?

@DavidCarlisle Psmith, the TeX bot: The great 8-ball says: yes, definitely.
I hate this bot.

@PauloCereda why? it seems very fair.

@DavidCarlisle No. :)

@PauloCereda The Great Oracle never fails; well, almost.

@egreg It fails when it attempts to fail, I guess. :)
!!/eightball Can I have chocolate?
@PauloCereda Psmith, the TeX bot: The great 8-ball says: talk to my lawyer.
Psmith is so mean to me today. :(

12:18 PM
@PauloCereda are Oracles immune from Russell's paradox?

@DavidCarlisle Maybe. :)
!!/eightball Are you immune to Russell's paradox?
@PauloCereda Psmith, the TeX bot: The great 8-ball says: too busy looking for bugs in longtable.
Uh-oh, that backfired us.
By the way, speaking of Russell, if anyone is interesting in a different read, check

@DavidCarlisle I can't do that, it's connected to code which was not written by me. Also it seems that some of my messages didn't get it through my campus' net, so I'll explain what I'm scratching my head about now. So, \foo is not written by me and I want to redefine $ in the way it could be hidden behind other macros and behave like this \def$#1${\xdef\bar{\noexpand\foo{#1}}\bar}.

@DavidCarlisle Is that impossible?

Spoiler: Russell tries to steal Whitehead's wife. :)

12:24 PM
@AndrewZabavnikov \catcode`\$\active \def$#1${\xdef\bar{\noexpand\foo{#1}}\bar} will work but that will break $$ for display math (but $$ isn't latex anyway) and will as you say break $a\foo if \foo is $ (but does anyone really do that?)
@AndrewZabavnikov oh apart from redefining $ most math constructs will blow up in an \xdef, do you really want full expansion there? why?

@DavidCarlisle That is actually also not part of my code, but I can rewrite it until this point.
@DavidCarlisle "oh apart from redefining $ most math constructs will blow up in an \xdef" - could you please elaborate this point?

@AndrewZabavnikov try for example \xdef\foo{$\sqrt{b}$} \show\foo
! Undefined control sequence.
\@ifnextchar #1#2#3->\let \reserved@d
                                      =#1\def \reserved@a {#2}\def \reserved...
l.3 \xdef\foo{$\sqrt
                    {b}$} \show\foo

@DavidCarlisle Wow! How did this happened?
@DavidCarlisle Or I'll just look for myself - if it is not very simple to explain.
@DavidCarlisle Excuse me, did you understood that in my previous definition \foo was taking one argument?
@DavidCarlisle And - what is your redefinition of $ ?

12:44 PM
@DavidCarlisle Probably works with the same as dvips

1:02 PM
Hello everyone, I'm back with another small question
I'm using the subfiles package in order to split a rather large (~80-100 pages) into smaller parts. Also, I'm collaborating with someone else and so far the package has worked perfectly. However, we are both getting this small warning when typesetting:

/usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/tex/latex/oberdiek/auxhook.sty: Package auxhook Warning: Cannot patch \document,(auxhook) using \AtBeginDocument instead.

I've searched a bit but couldn't find something specific about it.

@AndrewZabavnikov that's the expected behaviour of xdef (or edef) known in latex as "fragile command in a moving argument" however as xdef isn't a supported interface \protect wouldn't make sqrt safe either, you could use \protected@xdef and then \protect\sqrt but that would just stop expansion so it would be simpler to use \def instead of \xdef
@AndrewZabavnikov yes in my xdef example I used \foo as the xdef token, what you called \bar it makes no difference, if you put math (or many other latex commands) in an \xdef, you will get errors:-)

@AndrewZabavnikov Perhaps take a look at tex.stackexchange.com/questions/4736/… for some discussion of protected commands and why they are needed
@DavidCarlisle Roll on a proper LaTeX3 with all \protected commands!

@DavidCarlisle Oh! I see now! That's even without redefinition of $ (my misreading is superb today).

@JosephWright and \xdef removed from user accessibility:-)
@JosephWright vvv

@DavidCarlisle Erm, \cs_gset:Npx
@DavidCarlisle Drat: just looking at that now!
@DavidCarlisle Really should leave it until after work: these things are tricky

1:18 PM
@JosephWright apparently it expects a color special to be passed a colour not some sneaky postscript clip path thought up by Heiko:-)
@JosephWright me too:-)
@AndrewZabavnikov yes or without $ being in the example at all.

@DavidCarlisle Looking at the XeTeX driver, the code is probably best altered at the LaTeX end anyway. I'm none too keen on:
% v0.02t: support for \pagecolor
\def\set@page@color{%
  \global\let\current@page@color\current@color
  \@ifundefined{GXTorg@shipout}{%
    \global\let\GXTorg@shipout\shipout
    \gdef\shipout{%
      \afterassignment\GXT@shipout
      \global\setbox\@cclv=%
    }%
    \gdef\GXT@shipout{%
      \ifvoid\@cclv\relax
        \aftergroup\GXT@@shipout
        \GXT@setpagecolor
      \else
        \GXTorg@shipout\vbox{%
          \GXT@setpagecolor
          \box\@cclv
        }%
      \fi
    }%
    \gdef\GXT@@shipout{%
Once a page colour is set there is no 'escape': probably want a test for an empty value rather than anything complex

@JosephWright oops:-)

@DavidCarlisle By 'LaTeX' I of course mean 'TeX code' here :-)

@JosephWright well that was the documented feature of \pagecolor, that \nopagecolor is designed to change:-)

@DavidCarlisle Not quite what I meant. In e.g. the pdftex.def case you can turn off the entire thing so 'no colour' does nothing at all, rather than inserting a special that sets the colour to a no-op.
@DavidCarlisle Would something as simple as
\gdef\GXT@setpagecolor{%
  \ifx\relax\current@page@color\relax
  \else
    \special{background \current@page@color}%
  \fi
}%

1:27 PM
Guys, what's the sneaky way of including a line in the .aux file?

with logic that \nopagecolor can simply let \current@page@color to \@empty

@PauloCereda echo hello >> file.aux
@JosephWright \@empty not \relax?

@DavidCarlisle The TeX way would be \immediate\write18, correct? :)

@DavidCarlisle Don't like setting things to relax: L3 hat and all that

@PauloCereda \immediate\write\@auxout{hello} if you want tex to write it rather than call a system command

1:28 PM
@DavidCarlisle Anyway, will test this evening

@DavidCarlisle Oh. :)

@JosephWright yes but your code above does \ifx\relaxcurrent@page@color\relax not \ifx\@empty\current@page@color\@empty ?

@DavidCarlisle Oops: was thinking of a slightly different test!

@JosephWright seems like something like that will work though...

@DavidCarlisle I get some errors, perhaps appending stuff to the .log would be easier. \typeout?

1:35 PM
@PauloCereda typeout or \wlog (depending if you need \protect support (which is probably the issue with your \write) you may want \protected@write\@auxout{ \sqrt} (which is a non immediate write if that matters

@DavidCarlisle Doesn't work: despite the apparent desire to set the special on each page, once you've set the background once it applies to all pages

@DavidCarlisle Ah interesting. :) I'm having some ideas on exploiting the .log file. So, for protected stuff I should go with \wlog? Does that interfere with exit status?

@PauloCereda nah other way round \wlog is from plain tex and just does \immediate\write{-1} -1 rather than \@auxout not allocated to a stream so it gets dumped in the log
@PauloCereda only if you do \wlog{\sqrt} and generate a fragile command in moving argument error:-)

@DavidCarlisle Oh I do love getting in trouble. :)

@PauloCereda Of course you are supposed to use \PackageInfo[ducks}{some info from the duck package}

1:41 PM
@DavidCarlisle :)

@PauloCereda but PackageInfo will protect you

@DavidCarlisle aaaw <3
I'm thinking of providing \arara then make arara inspect the .log file for some info that could be added to directives on the fly. :)

@DavidCarlisle I read the dvips docs: Heiko's plan for that driver is certainly an abuse :-) It seems pretty clear that you have to actively set a colour for such drivers: XeTeX might also work with pdftex-like approach (untested as yet)

2:36 PM
@SeanAllred ... "People occasionally found themselves needing ongoing discussion to solve a problem, so we added chat forums" oops is that what this chat is for, don't tell Psmith:-)
@SeanAllred seems like a good thing on the whole, cw was/is a pretty weird concept

3:07 PM
@DavidCarlisle :(

3:21 PM
@egreg: $ svn commit -m "mps files are eps: graphics/3873" drivers.dtx
Sending drivers.dtx
Transmitting file data .
Committed revision 242.

@DavidCarlisle Cool: will grab later

@DavidCarlisle :)

Q: Is there an "Appending \let"?

arneyAfter \def\MyText{\textbf{My Text}} \let\MySaved\MyText \MySaved and \MyText have the same \meaning. What I would like to have further down in the document is % \MyText = \textbf{My Text} \def\MyText{\textit{More Text}} \let\MySaved{\MySaved \MyText} % \MySaved = \textbf{My Text} \textit{More...

Do other people read this as I do?
(see my comment)

I'm surprised not to see @egreg here. classicfm.com/discover/music/composer-insults

3:37 PM
@AlanMunn do you get classicfm in your part of the world?

@AlanMunn :) I like Rossini's comments on Berlioz and Wagner. But also the one on Vaughan Williams is quite nice.

@egreg I find the Tchaikovsky quotes funny. Sort of a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

@AlanMunn Il bue che dà del cornuto all'asino

@DavidCarlisle To the extent that the Interwebs has reached my part of the world, yes, but not on any actual radio station that I'm aware of. Our local classical station is abysmal.

@AlanMunn internet doesn't count:-)

3:47 PM
@egreg Nice.

@AlanMunn It can't be translated: cornuto means “with horns”, but also “cuckold”.

@egreg Ah, ok. That part I obviously didn't get.

@AlanMunn I recall Stravinsky having said about Vivaldi something like “the one who wrote 400 times the same concert“; he, instead, usually rewrote other people's music. ;-)

@egreg :)

Who is this man?

3:56 PM
@IamwhoIsayIam El luchador?
:)
@WillHunting: Jasper? :)

@PauloCereda No.

At least it's Jasper's blue color. :)

@PauloCereda Yes!

@IamwhoIsayIam Oh. :(
@WillHunting Yay!

@IamwhoIsayIam Hi!

3:57 PM
@WillHunting Hi Honey!

@AlanMunn we could has a page with famous insults about other people's packages. (Any comment from @egreg or@PauloCereda about longtable would qualify:-(

@IamwhoIsayIam Is that you in the picture?

@WillHunting No. :-)

@IamwhoIsayIam When will you show us your face?

Why do some authors have abbreviated middle names and no easy way to properly discover them? I don't like abreviated stuff in my .bib files. :)
For example, Keith D. Cooper.

3:58 PM
@WillHunting :-) I am not sure when. :-)

@IamwhoIsayIam Oh my ghost!

@PauloCereda I don't know (said David P. Carlisle)

@DavidCarlisle LOL
But I do know what the P. in your name stands for. :)
After some good sherlockian research.

@PauloCereda If I recall it mainly consisted of whining and begging until you were given some hints to shut you up:-)

4:01 PM
@DavidCarlisle Hey, it was a good method. :)
Now, find barbara's middle name. :)

@PauloCereda n

@PauloCereda From Debian 7 I went back to Debian 6 since it will have long term support until 2016 and Debian 8 will be out in 2015.

@DavidCarlisle I meant expanded version. :)
@WillHunting Uh-oh. :)

@PauloCereda are you sure that isn't the expanded version

@PauloCereda I don't like GNOME 3. I intend to use GNOME 2 now and then MATE in future.

4:03 PM
@DavidCarlisle Maybe. :)
@WillHunting Oh I see.

Another face puzzle, who is he?

@IamwhoIsayIam Vincent Vega!
:)

@PauloCereda NO. :-)

@IamwhoIsayIam I'll shut up now. :)
@David: And there's also Joseph A. Wright. :)

The first face is Rowan Parkinson. :-)
The second one is Hans Zimmer. :-)

4:08 PM
@PauloCereda just looked at barabra's linked in page "July 1962 – Present (51 years 10 months) Providence, Rhode Island Area" only 51 years in the job, just getting the hang of it now:-)

@DavidCarlisle LOL

@PauloCereda Hint: the TeXbook, page 460

@PauloCereda Because middle names don't count for many people. Also, there are some people who publish only with their initials in all journals, and their names shouldn't be spelled out. The same goes for middle initials, IMO.

@egreg Wow! Holy long name, Batman! :)
@AlanMunn Indeed. :) Although I'm curious in these cases. :)

@PauloCereda Good thing you're not a cat.

4:17 PM
@AlanMunn Quack. :)

@AlanMunn Journals in my area are pretty down on that: you are more-or-less required to spell out your given name (or more accurately a given name). A few people seem to still get away with it!
@AlanMunn Of course, in a database sense you are correct: store the data as given in the original source

@JosephWright Yes, I think that there's been more and more pressure to do that. But there's an interesting argument about gender neutrality to be made for initials...
@JosephWright BTW, do you know a quick answer to the comments on this answer of mine. I don't know how the inheritance structure of beamer works. tex.stackexchange.com/a/14366/2693

@AlanMunn I guess. I don't really follow the idea that gender come into these things: when I have something to review, I glance at the author names but only for interest. Comes down to the content.
@AlanMunn Not really: regrettably beamer is internally not much fun

@JosephWright Our journals are blind reviewed, but the issue can also arise after things are published to the extent that people don't bother to read articles by women. It's hard to get data on this, though.
@JosephWright Yes, that's what I figured. No problem.

@AlanMunn Ah right
@AlanMunn I've never seen how blind review can work in the first place :-)
@AlanMunn Hard to measure people not reading stuff!

4:26 PM
@JosephWright Well with this obsession about citation counts, we're exactly having that done to us...

@JosephWright I always get spotted. :)

@JosephWright It works pretty well actually, I think. I don't usually know who wrote the paper I'm reviewing. Sometimes it's obvious, but not very often.

@AlanMunn To me that seems very odd
@AlanMunn For example, 'we have recently reported ...', 'an ongoing series ... ', molecule X where X is commonly used in a lab, 'method as described previously ...'

@JosephWright I think because all of your field's work is dependent on labs too, which narrows down things a lot. But self-citation can just be "Wright et al. 2012 found ..." couldn't it?

@AlanMunn Some people do use this approach
@AlanMunn More commonly 'Bloggs and coworkers [1-5]' as we put the lead author last

4:30 PM
But at least theoretical linguistics is more like math, in that I don't think you can tell for sure where a paper originates, even from the citations.
@JosephWright Of course, since nothing is blind reviewed, nobody presumably bothers to develop such techniques.

@AlanMunn People don't keep out of other peoples space?

@JosephWright True.
@JosephWright Not specifically, no. Obviously if you are working on the same topic you need to carve out different analyses, perhaps and respond to the others' work.
@JosephWright And surely we want some convergence in science... :)

4:44 PM
May someone take time to explain me how "inherit" goes with beamer?
@JosephWright for instance?

5:02 PM
@s__C I just asked, but beamer internals are "not much fun" (to quote @JosephWright). You might want to post a new question linking to the question that I answered and raising the two issues: why local structure doesn't work, but item does, and why the colour gets inherited by subsequent itemizes.

mhh @AlanMunn sorry for the mess... it was out of my visible area

@s__C No problem. :)

Am I also trying to mess too much with beamer in that question : tex.stackexchange.com/questions/172980/… ?

@s__C There's no harm in asking, but it's always better to post a minimal complete document rather than code fragments. This way it makes it much easier to people who are inclined to help to play with your code.
@s__C I suspect that you can't do this without writing information to the .aux file. TeX doesn't know how many subsections a section contains.

5:40 PM
Does anyone know what this warning is about:

/usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/tex/latex/oberdiek/auxhook.sty: Package auxhook Warning: Cannot patch \document,(auxhook) using \AtBeginDocument instead.

I get this when using the subfiles package.

@Argo Ignore it. It's Heiko being overzealous.

@egreg: do you see a good use for an \arara-like macro in order to provide a communication between directives and the .tex code itself?

@PauloCereda I see danger.

@egreg Me too. :)

Alright, although I hate seeing warnings just like that

6:04 PM
Hmm got another question now: apparently the subfiles package can't fetch the bibliography used in the main file. When typesetting I get the usual "citation is undefined" error.

6:20 PM
Oh my, AirPlay does work! Yay!

am I the only one who thinks this is a funny yet quite appropriate abbreviation of the table? :P

From the siunitx docs?

@Argo yup
@PauloCereda now you hear molecules dancing? :P

6:36 PM
@hugovdberg :-)
It's all done automatically: I don't check this stuff :-)

@JosephWright I understand, still, automatic processes can give very funny results :P
@JosephWright @PauloCereda No quack! ;-)

Shit I killed him -_-

@Argo Me too. :(

Is it possible to define as an item symbol a tikzpicture?

8:54 PM
@s__C Yes

I tried but I get ! Argument of \tikz@fig@scan@options has an extra }
with this \newcommand*\Proitem{\item[\tikz \node [scale=.5,shape=emoticon happy,draw,fill=orange] () {};]}

@s__C Place the stuff inside a brace after \tikz
and remove () if you don't give a name to the node

@percusse lol, I did it by turning my mouse upside down rolling it over the full length of my hand, my Logitech Revolution has the same function, but that's still in Breda :P

yes it has done the trick!
now is there a possibility to scale the symbol to the level of the item?

@hugovdberg Haha geniaal
@s__C Yes. :)
Either use baseline=##ex option on the tikz picture

9:01 PM
Willing to share @percusse?

or Put all in \raisebox{0.3ex}{} or something

no I mean
ahem nevermind it DOES scale automatically regarding the level

@PauloCereda “It rained for four years, eleven months, and two days.” Just to remember Gabriel García Márquez.

10K-tools doesn't show a flagged tab anymore. The reason:

Q: Let's get rid of the 10K flag queue

Shog9The 10K tools are pretty cool... You get a birds-eye view of activity on the site, a "dashboard" view of what's happening. Some of the individual tools haven't scaled particularly well with Stack Overflow's growth, but the concept behind them is still sound: we trust you to enough to be a bee wat...

@Werner The annoying number in the top bar?

@egreg Yes...

@Werner Hurray!

@egreg :)
Flags now seem to feed directly into the review queues...

10:44 PM
@egreg :)

@PauloCereda That chapter start struck me when I read the novel.

11:03 PM
@egreg :)
@egreg: 21C right now. The winter is coming. :)

@PauloCereda We should have 25 next Friday; probable tour, for it's holiday here.

@egreg ooh a tour! Where? :)

@PauloCereda Not yet decided. No mountain, surely: it has snowed till last week.

@egreg I was gonna suggest a pizza in Naples, but according to Wolfram Alpha, it's about 6 hours. :(

11:19 PM
@PauloCereda Not really feasible. :) Six hours at high speed on a motorway: not my kind of tour. Perhaps Ravenna: it has been a while I haven't been at San Vitale, a church built in the sixth century.
The Basilica of San Vitale is a church in Ravenna, Italy and one of the most important examples of early Christian Byzantine art and architecture in western Europe. The building is styled an "ecclesiastical basilica" in the Roman Catholic Church, though it is not of architectural basilica form. It is one of eight Ravenna structures inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. History The church was begun by Bishop Ecclesius in 526, when Ravenna was under the rule of the Ostrogoths and completed by the 27th Bishop of Ravenna, Maximian, in 547 preceding the Byzantine Exarchate of Ravenna....

@egreg The church looks gorgeous!

@PauloCereda You know that Ravenna was the capital city of the Western Roman Empire until 476, when the Ostrogoths came and the last emperor “resigned”.
@PauloCereda The mosaic in the picture was realized in 547. :)
Maybe Brent was there.

@egreg Oh my!

@PauloCereda Good night!

@egreg Good night, Enrico! :)
