Hi guys. I have never used a chat room on any of the stackoverflow forums and am wondering how well they work?

Are there times when many people are in here chatting in real-time or is it mostly like a message board where I post something and come back in a few days to see if anyone responded?

Also I'm new to the UX stackexchange forum and thought I'd introduce myself. I have been a full-stack web developer for many years. I started out designing large data warehouses which surprisingly has a creative component to it. I eventually found my niche as a UI developer with emphasis on web sites. After about 15 years as a developer I decided to focus exclusively on User Experience and design. I'm still fairly new to UX and absolutely love the transition!

This stackexchange community has been a big help as I transition from development over to design and I hope to contribute and continue to give back as we help make the lives of all people everywhere better. :)

What would be the correct way to say regarding permissions? Given and Received or is there some better way?

I looked for a similar question on this SO resource, but haven't found anything suitable :(
