First up: 2 weeks ago I suffered a testicular torsion. This is not as painful as it sounds, it's much much more painful than that.

The boss fights in HR kinda sucked but they improved them for the director's cut by a pretty substantial margin

HR was more about an enjoyable experience for me, rather than innovative gameplay. Cause it didn't have a lot of the latter.

I hate stealth games in general, though. I don't get the appeal. The mechanics are so black and white. You're fine until you're completely fucked. If you stay fine the whole time, then you win, but on your first attempt on a level the chances of that happening are almost zero.

The writing was decent. The future-tech art and design were great.

@MadMAxJr if you play the original in 2015, you're not getting innovative anything either though

tl;dr is that it's a really fun game, with some flaws. No voice chat, you can't change weapons between matches unless you leave the game, and only 5 maps for multiplayer (they said they plan to release a lot of free maps, though)

I never realized HL:Source looked exactly as crappy as the original

I love Valve's story game...

Half Life series, Portal series...there's just something about them that is just incredibly well done.

And the puzzle aspect of Portal is really cool, but yeah, it is mainly the script that makes the games so good.
