You can puff and flare or puff and shotty. The weapon switch time bonuses stack, too.

@badp Scorch Shot does half the normal damage of the other flare guns and no guaranteed crits at all

However you can "rocket jump" with it and your shot can be a little off if you time the detonation right

The detonator is fun if you suck at sniper

But if you can actually aim the flare gun is better in almost every way

You can ignite multiple players with a single detonator detonation but it's quite the feat

Also the detonator can catch enemies around corners

I'm just happy I don't have to usually deal with pyros with great flare aim

I melee destroyed a sentry one time because I was out of bombs as demo

and that also burns enemies around you

Earlier today four brillant enemy engines built a wall of sentries under the C bots in rd_asteroid

Three of them were inside that glass circle column thing
