@GnomeSlice Actually, what I did would be to change your statement to "I like Minecraft. I don't get why people feel compelled to make unoriginal renditions of other games in it."
So I installed skyrim via steam and I adjusted the settings to be full screen and my native 1600x1200 resolution, and started the game, and it started in windowed mode 800x600.
I tried many times, and even tried restarting my computer.
I then tried to at least change bFullScreen to 1 in the sett...
I was given a house by Ulfric Stormcloak as a reward for my services to the rebellion. I remember the Jarl of Whiterun (after the capture) offered me a home, but I cannot find it. Does anyone know where this house is?
I really want to get rid of it. I've been through the whole companions questline and cured Kodlak's. I killed all 5 witches and have 4 of the heads left in my inventory.
I've been back to that same flame and tried to use it with the head, but nothing going; activating it does nothing. I've heard...
Honestly if you're going to complain about the 2fort map you should complain because the only thing that they took from A is the general shape of the map
So, I hate to be a nit-picker, but I noticed that http://skyrimvsmw3.com/ uses american-style date formats (mm/dd/yyyy). Seeing as America is the only place in the world that uses this style of formatting, is it possible to get it changed to a universally-readable yyyy.mm.dd format instead?
Even...
@Mvy The results aren't really a surprise to anyone, are they?
FPS games, particularly multiplayer ones, aren't really condusive to questions. Also, Google, fix Chrome and make it stop marking condusive as not a word, particularly since your own search engine says it is.
@Wipqozn: I don't have any problems with Dvorak for gaming, but it probably depends on the games you play.
Skyrim even manages to handle my keyboard as if it were Azerty (I guess it uses native key codes rather than the key states provided by a framework), still letting me type my name and console in Dvorak.
Good trick to max smithing is to just make iron daggers. That's what I did all the way up to 100 working on my full set of daedric armor now with ebony ore. It's better than dragon
Huh, either I'm absuredly lucky, or I was not thorough enough on my first run through of the Skyrim intro.
I restarted now that I have a better sense of mechanics I startedover, and I haven't left the first town (the simple little mill) and I'm level 5 with an Orcish Bow and Elven Dagger.
Pickpocketing is just absurdly easy and overpowered.
I can guarantee you that for every new user who would make use of the comment button at 1 rep, we'd get a hell of a lot of crap being posted there too. And we wouldn't even notice it for too long.
@GnomeSlice Not if the comments are appearing in old content.
@Mana Yes, but then when we get an actually intelligent post, it comes in the form of an answer and gets downvoted to hell. Doesn't that drive them off too?
No, when we get an actually intelligent post, it comes in the form of an answer and actually is a friggin' answer. Or if it's not then it gets converted to a comment within 10 minutes-an hour and then good stuff happens.
@GnomeSlice Comments are temporary "Post-It" notes left on a question or answer. Request clarification from the author; Leave constructive criticism that guides the author in improving the post; Add relevant but minor or transient information to a post (e.g. a link to a related question, or an alert to the author that the question has been updated).

buy the materials to craft steel chests and the plate chest when you unlock them, then refine them with bought condorium and sell back to a vender, wait a couple days or change smithing spots, and you will have a unending supply of money and smith materials.
I have hit level 6 in the first village mainly just stealing shit, eating ingredients, and stealing more shit. with a bit of paying for archery training and then stealing the money back.
Really, it's a shame that new users can't comment since it would take a lot of the straws off our backs, but at the same time it would replace them with 50 ton weights.
In other news, at this point in the game, every time I steal back my training fee, I gain a skillup. Because skill gains from pickpocketing are determined by the value of the stolen item.
(Fun fact: The skillup formulae for weapons are based on damage dealt, not swings.)
I'm an currently in Snow Veil Sanctum and I'm having trouble finishing the Speaking with Silence quest. During this quest I'm supposed to lead Mercer Frey into Snow Veil Sanctum to kill Karliah, a former Thieves Guild initiate. I've already made my way to the end of the ruins where I battle a mul...
A MineCraft server I play on is having an event to celebrate 1.0's release. It will be all players in survival mode vs the Enderdragon. :D Anyone want to come?
I seem to level up my pickpocketing skill very fast based on what items I pickpocket.
My question is, is it based on % chance to pickpocket, with lower percentages granting more experience, or is it based on the value of what I pickpocket.
I know success percent decreases based on value, but it...
@Mana: It just occurred to me that if you are playing a thief based character dragons must be a real pain in the ass for you. you can't exactly launch a sneak attack on a dragon.
@GnomeSlice Yeah, in order to get something to the page you need to add it to the document, manipulate it a bit (to make it fly up and such), then remove it from the document.
I've been accumulating treasure maps as I travel Skyrim:
So do these serve any purpose? Can they actually lead me to a treasure? If so, is there anyway to interpret the location other than guessing?
@LessPop_MoreFizz yeah, having the orchish bow at riverwood would easily kill everything in one hit. I normally could take things out that early with 1 hit with the hunters bow, so I can't imagine anything taking more than 1 with orc
Once in a while I play games with headphones on to avoid disturbing others around me. This works well except with the Wii when games play certain sounds through the Wii remote controllers rather than through my TV's speakers.
Is there a way to turn those sounds off? If so, how do I do it?
It's unclear to me whether "two-handed" means just two-handed melee weapons, or if it includes bows.
Logically, a bow is used with two hands, so it should work, but I want to make sure before I waste a black soul gem on a 13% fortify two-handed magic ring.
The perk "Keymaster" (Pickpocket) states "Pickpocketing keys almost always works."
What does this mean? Does it mean that all keys will always have a 90% chance (the cap) to be pickpocketed?
If so, are there keys later on that are really hard to pickpocket? Because where I am currently (not ver...
In Geirmund's hall, there is a point where I'm at a drawbridge that I can't lower. A nearby switch triggers the traps that pop out of the wall, and I can see the two beady eyes of the wight waiting for me once I get the bridge down. How do I do so?
There doesn't seem to be any of the obvious b...
All 240 stars are mine! There is now just one galaxy left, the Grandmaster. On my first attempt, it gobbled up 30 lives like my kids eat ice cream. It wasn't pretty. Before I tackle it again, I'm going to need a lot o lives. What's the best way to get as many extra lives as possible in a sho...

So apparently I've found a quest item Dravin's Bow somewhere in my travels. Anyone found this quest, since I can't drop the item, I'd like to complete it quick-fastly, as I subscribe to the 'pick up everything that's not nailed down' school of thought.
In my travels, I've found numerous magic items. These items have a color (so far only red, green, and blue). For example, the Thieves Guild armor (which can't be disenchanted for some reason) is green, items I've enchanted are blue, and some random items I've found are red.
Is there any meanin...
The BBFC has confirmed the existence of cannibalism in Skyrim. I'm curious as to how this aspect fits into the game: Is it quest related like in Fallout 3? Where does the quest originate? What are the pros (quest rewards, etc) and cons (reputation decrease, etc) of choosing to cannibalize?
My system has the core i7 2600K on intel DZ68DB mobo with integrated graphics 3000 support, no graphics card and 8gb RAM.Is there a need for me to buy a dedicated graphics to play games like NFS, FiFa, BattleField and Prince of Persia? Is there any information (in-game, or externally) about the significant events that transpired in the realm of Tamriel between Oblivion and Skyrim?

Across my travels I've come across 2 business ledgers. I can't remember where the first one was (I think it was some sort of shop or a jarl's room), I found the second one in the stable house.
Both of them had the following tooltip when moused over "Forge Numbers Business Ledger". Both times I a...
I bought Skyrim via Steam and also bought the online Prima game guide. It touts a whole map section, but fails to provide any kind of map of Skyrim. (Kind of lame for a game guide to not come with a map. I give the online guide very low marks.)
So, I would like to know if there is a decent ma...
I went through the entire Golden Claw dungeon and it was my understanding I'd have to fight some final bad. I went to where the runes seems to light up, in the final area, and didn't see anything of interest and ended up going through back into Skyrim, without battle.

I have chosen to be a Wood Elf and was looking forward to the command animal skill they have. However I fail to see how it is a valuable asset as all it does is create a static, uncontrollable meat shield.
Is there something I am missing?
What is a good situation to be using this skill in?

I am concentrating in alchemy in order to use poisons with my attacks. I have made several bottles, but I am unsure how to use them. I am a bit worried about 'using' them in my inventory in case my character just drinks it himself.
Can I apply it to weapons, and will it work with a bow?
A while ago ScummVM suddenly stopped working with my copy of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Adventure (Macintosh edition) and I haven't been able to get it working again. Anyone got any tips on how to beat down a Dragon solo? I've managed to get it down to 3/4 health, but keep running out of potions and getting owned.
I tend to whittle it down with bow from cover, then hit it with akimbo Lightning Strike which is awesome btw. Then poison and some sword.

I can't get over just how hard Skyrim is on master difficulty. The Restless Draugrs on one of the first missions killed me with 2 casts of its frozen nastyness. Took me about an hour to figure out how to kill it. Back down a notch now as it was making me a nervous wreck of a man
I'd like to play on Dedicated Servers, because I can get into the game faster and they offer overall better response times, not to mention that I can choose whatever map or game type I like.
