Quite how a 27 L engine needs 25 gallons of oil is a little unsettling

Q: How can I tell if my cylinders are flooded with water?

ZaidBackdrop We had really heavy rains here today. I was in my '99 M5, idling in traffic when I noticed the brake pedal feel became really notchy. When I let go of the brakes the pedal would not travel back up easily and the engine started sputtering until I gave it a bootful of throttle. I also not...

Interesting question for sure..\
So the booster is in a water-tight compartment that normally collects enough water that it needs a drain plug...
Hmm

@zaid Do you really think there is a risk of hydro lock?

I guess there's no "English" rule?
Good translation edit...
I was about to do the same.

As you can tell I can only say a few words in German. Google is a bit better than me. :)

Still, it's more of a step than most people would take. Now the question has a fighting chance.

@HandyHowie I hope not. Bit difficult to say.
It got me thinking as to how I would approach testing it. Then I thought someone else might have a brighter idea than me, which is why I posted up
I think I'll get the chance to try your suggestion tomorrow or the day after
Just enquired about a new brake booster from my local dealer... It's not in stock and it's way overpriced. Time to put on my sourcing hat...

@JPhi1618 I noticed. It seems to help when the votes*views/time ratio is high

Does each site have it's own privilege levels? For instance, I can cast close votes here at @500 rep, but I need to be at 3k to do that on DIY. Is it because this is beta?

9:48 PM
Yeah, rep levels go up on graduation
