Q: Car overheating when ac goes from hot to cold

AppleFix88This is a 2003 Honda Civic with about 140k on it. I've had this car checked out by a mechianic and the thermostat was replaced had a pressure test to check for air pockets, nothing. Had a test for a bad head gasket with some sort of chemical test which came back negative. But the car still overhe...

@ChristinaRule ... I don't know how Fiats are these days since they bought out Chrysler, but in my day they were good cars until they weren't anymore. What do I mean by that? I mean to say they, as soon as they started breaking down, you were in a never ending cycle of fixing them. They would just nickel and dime you to death from that point forward and you'd never get to a point where the car would be good.
@ChristinaRule ... They could very well be a good car these days, though. I really can't say for sure.

@Paulster2 No, England... Same problem though, people being totally unprepared to deal with severe weather, and unwilling to take a moment to think before they do things...

@NickC ... It doesn't surprise me that this happens in any metropolis. It's the same thing year after year. I learned a long time ago to drive to the conditions ... part of that realization is actually understanding the conditions and what is possible. Just because it's snowing does not mean it's slick. Just because it's icy doesn't mean you cannot drive on it, you just have to take it slower and plan ahead. Know your vehicle and feel your way. You'll get there safely.

I was in a double dumb example of not planning ahead on Monday. A line of cars tailgating a front wheel drive Acura with summer tires (I assume) as it struggled up a modest hill next to my neighborhood.
Acura: when you hear the spinny sound, push less hard on the big pedal. Geeze.
Everyone else: don't pack in behind the poor guy. We're all going to end up stuck when someone hits the ice patches this dude is making and slips sideways. Give him some space and scoot from flat spot to flat spot when there's room.
Fortunately I eventually got to my empty neighborhood and got to scamper around with lots of snow spraying in all directions before hunkering down for two days. :-)
