@Lilienthal Such a letter is only worth the recognition of the signature on the bottom. In my Country haveing an reference letter from most know company's is worth it, but a Startup or something unpopular just waste of paper.

Q: Why was "How to approach a boss..." closed?

David KThe question How to approach a boss who doesn't take full responsibility for his mistake? was recently closed because "advice on what to do are not practical answerable questions". How does this fit that criteria? The OP is not asking whether they should keep the job or nor, they are asking how t...

I'm pretty OCD about reviews. It's because of that I'm glad I don't have high enough rep on other SE sites because I'd never get any real work done. lol

I've killed a number of edits where someone was scumming for rep points. Low rep user changes one word to a synonym of that word is just trying real hard for easy rep. KILL KILL!

5:40 PM
You don't get points for edits I don't think, just badges. I'm pretty pedantic so I'm all for someone cleaning stuff up, whatever their motivation.

@ChristopherEstep I think you get one or two. rep points, nothing major. I forget though

Have you studied knowledge workers or do you have a lot of experience, or both maybe?

6:37 PM
@Lilienthal I second that. You are wise in understanding motivations

@ChristopherEstep @RichardU - you get 2 rep for an approved edit, up to 500 times, and are no longer eligible for the rep after you hit 2000 rep (but then your edits don't even go in the review queue, I think).
When reviewing, make sure they correct all obvious errors. Don't let them waste reviewers time with copious trivial edits.

@AaronHall I killed an edit because the only change was a period.

I think a couple trivial ones here and there are ok, though, so long as there's nothing else that needs fixing.
If it needed the period, and it was the only edit I'd seen from the editor, I'd allow it, but I don't see how they submit a change with only one period, the system requires at least 6 chars.
For me, I think it's a bad rule, I broke up a wall of text once, but couldn't think of anything else that needed fixing, so I put in an html comment.
And of course it was approved - the new paragraphs were a huge improvement.
The spelling was correct. The grammar was correct. The word-choice was correct. The ordering of the ideas was correct. The only thing wrong - it was a wall of text.
