@Raphael about your coment does it progressed? I mean that from some point on there is no 2 points per edit (I do not get it anyway), and not always every edit attempt (in general) is perfect - there are a lots of drawbacks on editting - and sometimes one attempts to reword and repair question, sometimes some minor fixes.
So such silent edit would make a lot of sense, I mean ability to improve even a bit while you read without necromancy and other stuff would enhance collaborative effort. Since there are several meta Q which clearly state that OPs are limiting themselves from improvements due to drawbacks, this "minor-edit" functionality would be awesome.
