Q: A Tool to measure onscreen drawn rectangle?

Kashmir HalalI am looking for a tool that runs via command line. sort of like xprop xdotool it simply needs to allow me to draw a rectangle on the screen. and tell me the measurements of it. I have tested out: "import" module by "imagemagick".. but perhaps there is something much lighter out there ? ...

deja vu with:

Q: fastest filename : naming files for speed

Rivi4a file w/ file name: 1 a file w/ file name: abcdefghijklmnoqprxyz wouldn't the file w/ file name 1 be alot faster when called by the system ? Based on this logic.. what would be the next best file name to choose.. after the files 0-9 ?

GitHub TOS changes... wonderful ☹ — joeyh.name/blog/entry/removing_everything_from_github

@derobert I've read the TOS and I have no idea what scared joey

@Gilles At least in the linked PDF, it looks like they might give GitHub rights beyond what (e.g.,) GPL give.
I don't think there was any evil intended... but if that's the case, it's a problem if I use anyone else's code in mine (because I can't grant those permissions when I'm not the copyright holder)
Whether that's actually the case, I'm not sure. Not being a lawyer.

Indeed.
Or possible Law
Well, if I write up a question and post it, I'll link it here.

I'm on ubuntu:16.04 running this /bin/sh -c "echo -e 'foo\nbar'"
prints
-e foo
bar
any ideas why it's printing -e?
I'm not sure this is worth making a post.

DOH
Thanks, @Seth
That's such a noob one, too. I'm doing docker things, so many linux flavors. It's hard to keep up with it all.
