@Izzy They are absolutely making money from them, at least stockoverflows.com is doing that. Firefox reported blocked popup. Sometimes, a popup appears and then gets closed, I guess ABP is closing it. They are very intrusive ads, and would definitely affect an SE site's public reputation when visited by someone, not to mention the imposter site's functionality is so broken that SE's reputation might be taking a bit of hit from users unknown to real SE.
They would blame SE for having such unprofessional site yet claiming to be having world's biggest programming site. // Thankfully, search engine still shows real SE sites first.

@Firelord Thought so. So my framework (Adblock+,NoScript,Ghostery) was protecting me just fine :)
@Firelord Exactly. I bet that's one of the core reason SE is hunting them down (I would, if it was about my site and I had the power).

Hi there looking for help, I have the same problem as here: android.stackexchange.com/questions/108821/…

@Owl I think putting bounty on that question would be best way to seek help if the problem is rather same for you. However, you're short of reputation to offer bounty. // There is a catch however. (Ignore, if you're aware of the following) You need only 6 more rep points to have 200 points on SO. That 200 will trigger association bonus of 100 points to all SE sites for you, and thus, on AE you'll have 101 rep (enough for minimum bounty).

When I think about the impact that Stack Overflow has had on the world, it’s tempting for me to think about numbers: how many active users we have, how many questions are answered in a day, how many jobs get posted on our Careers platform. These are things that I, as a developer, think about on a daily basis to measure how we’re helping programmers around the world grow. But I find that these numbers are hard to wrap my head around: it doesn’t quite give me a feel for what our work is doing. What is the quality of our impact? What does it feel like at an individual level? …

Hi @Izzy I guess we do have some mods (not of AE :D) who don't watch this room silently. In fact, two of them. Hey Guys @OliverSalzburg and @Pureferret

@Firelord I'm awake honest!

…always watching

@OliverSalzburg If you can see @OliverSalzburg he can see you....
If you can't you may only be moments away from death
@ThatBrazilianGuy I'm a mod on scifi

@Firelord By "silent" I meant you don't see their avatars here. Mods have some extra powers watching the "logs" :)

10:00 PM
@Izzy I was just kidding :) Anyhow, I noticed that if you browse this chatroom using only the transcripts without clicking "Join x users in this room", then your avatar won't show up amongst other users. Either the sync here is way too late, or guess everyone has those "extra powers". :D
I refreshed this chat page and opened it in new tab many times, I still don't see my dummy avatar amongst the active members here. Can you tell how many do you see, names will be cool too.
?
It still shows 5 (two other SE sites mods, me, Izzy and Faheem) users in this room while there should be 6! Can anyone confirm the other person?

10:37 PM
@Firelord Nope. 4 currently, Faheem has left. Hm, some extra-powers ar far too obvious it seems :)
But I'm taking eyes-closed powers now :) Good night!

Good night :)

10:59 PM
@Izzy I'm here. But I won't come here unless you reference me.
