@Izzy hi
I've downloaded the permission checker app and found the foll.
For the permissions on SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW and GET_TASKS the foll applications have been displayed-
[Antivirus Free](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zrgiu.antivirus&hl=en),
[Battery Doctor](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ijinshan.kbatterydoctor_en&hl=en),
[Holo Locker](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker&hl=en),
[Applock](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.domobile.applock&hl=en),

@user285oo6 that antivirus looks suspicious
there are a lot of one-word reviews, so they are probably fake reviews

which anti virus is more preferred and requires less resources
then @DanHulme

I prefer no antivirus
you can only get a virus on your phone by installing it

then won't I risk my OS

you can worry about replacing it later
first, try uninstalling it and see if the ads go away
after all, it can't be a very good antivirus, as there actually is a virus on your system

k then how can I identify whether it's a virus or bug because virus would make severe damage to the os and the bug would cause annoying issues but not severe

10:25 AM
I think that you are the only person to classify a virus and a bug that way
a bug is a mistake in a program so it behaves incorrectly

sorry not bug a worm/malware

well, strictly speaking a virus transmits itself by infecting other programs
so there are no viruses on Android
and very few on Windows
so let's put this another way: you already have malware on your phone
and the app with fake reviews is my first suspect

yes next what

so perform an experiment: uninstall it and see if you don't get those ads any more

so no anti virus is preferred
option

10:36 AM
that's up to you
but that's something to think about after you've established whether your current "antivirus" is actually malware

k thanks for the info have to try and see.

Guys, what do you think of this question? It's about a tool that's almost exclusively used to manage the AOSP source code. It seems to me like it might be off-topic, but I don't know how interested people might be

Q: What does repo init and repo sync actually do?

Poly BugThis is such a noob question, and pardon me if it is, but I just want to understand the underlying concepts clearly. Reading repo help and Google's repo command reference page doesn't really help much. I understood some bits from Google's reference page, but I still need some more clarification...

I don't like to judge whether questions about how things work are interesting or not, because they're almost always interesting to me :-)
