PSA: I don't think either of these questions should have had an admin forced close on them sports.stackexchange.com/questions/16037/… sports.stackexchange.com/questions/16038/… Please vote to reopen if you agree :-)

@PhilipKendall Do you suggest to reopen them and the close them again by regular users (without moderators' binding votes), or just to reopen them?
I vaguely recall that if somebody voted to close, they can ony cast close vote on the same question only after some amount on time. (Is it one month?)

The first one is currently closed as a duplicate of Can a player get his second yellow card while being replaced? What happens then?, the second one as unclear what you are asking.
(Just posting the full titles for the benefit of other users visiting this room, so that they see at least some basic information about the question without having to hover over the link or click on it.)

IMO, they should both just be open. The first one as pointed out in comments is *not* a duplicate - the two questions refer to different players. It should never have been closed as a duplicate. The second one seems perfectly clear to me. No idea why it's been closed.

I'm not too bothered about moderator closes when they're clearly correct, it's when there is significant doubt about whether they're correct moderators should should hold off hitting the button.

You probably mean this comment:
@Nij, this is not a duplicate as OP asks about a red card given to the replacing player (not the replaced one). — Bebs yesterday
This is not a duplicate. The suggested duplicate is about players who are leaving being cautioned/sent-off, not substitutes who are entering. — studro 10 hours ago
I cast my reopen vote - I missed that difference when I voted to close.
@PhilipKendall Thanks for the reply! I have seen on some other sites that some users oppose mods' votes on closing. (There were some heated discussion.) I am not familiar with sport.SE so much, so I guessed that regulars of this site might know whether this has been discussed here and what is position of sports.SE community on this.
Related to recent discussion about league/sport tags - I guess would be reasonable tag for this question: Distance between court & crowd in Basketball. What do you think?

Martin: and that's why us regular users need 5 close votes to close a question, so it doesn't matter if a few of us miss subtle distinctions. Mods need to be a bit more careful ;-)
I'd say depends on whether other leagues do the same. Looking at (say) EuroBasket 2015 youtube.com/watch?v=Mlg5MvcdGZA there is a lot more space between the end of the court and the fans, so I'd say put it in.

@PhilipKendall generally my approach. if i have some doubt, i usually leave it be. that said, @jamauss isn't around much, so i can't speak to how in tune he is with the site and our recent efforts.
