NFL: domestic violence - 6 games for 1st offense, lifetime ban for 2nd offense espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/11425377/…

user46190
> The policy is not retroactive, meaning all personnel have a clean slate, a league source told ESPN's Mark Dominik. If a player commits a crime while in college or high school and then has a first offense while in the NFL, the player could be subject to a suspension harsher than six games.

user46190
So, we can't knock Ray Rice because he has a "clean slate" but anyone being stupid at young, tender ages in high school or college doesn't?

@edmastermind29 yes

user46190
@skullpatrol it just sounds contradictory to me. let's punish those, who offended as teens, if they offend in the nfl vs. not punishing a grown man because your handling of him was the reason these measures were put in place to begin with

@edmastermind29 yep, we are in uncharted territory

@skullpatrol yes we are...yes we are

@edmastermind29 where the lawyers make all the money

user46190
@skullpatrol $$$....and the NFL. because if the NFL loses, they win in the end anyway.

@edmastermind29 I'm waiting for Kitchko to fight again

user46190
@skullpatrol whos that?

user46190

@edmastermind29 maybe, I thought he's fighting in September

@edmastermind29 Klitschko is tied with Muhammad Ali for second on the all-time list for most heavyweight title fights with 25, behind only Joe Louis with 27.

Q: In tennis, how much is the server's advantage diminished if the game goes to "deuce?"

Tom AuIn tennis, the person with the serve has a clear advantage. This is is certainly true at love-love, where four points are needed to win a game. A server who lets the game go to "deuce" has squandered part of that advantage. From that point, two (consecutive) points are needed to win. What do to...

Below is a list of longest reigning heavyweight champions in boxing measured by the individual's longest reign. @skullpatrol good read. he has a brother on there....what a boxing pedigree. Not as many defenses however....but 16 defenses is nothing to snooze at.

@edmastermind29 yep, he's got a PhD in sports science too
Klitschko speaks four languages: Ukrainian, Russian, German and English.

user46190
@skullpatrol mustve not gotten knocked upside the head too much if he's that smart, lol

Q: Are different skill sets required to excel at doubles, rather than singles tennis?

Tom AuFor example, America's Bryan Brothers excel at doubles tennis. Yet neither of them are recognized singles champions. Do they communicate/co-ordinate better than other doubles pairs? Are there other skills that help them excel at doubles that aren't relevant to singles? Might growing up as (twin)...

Q: Is it worth fighting to hold serve in a losing set?

Tom AuSuppose you're down a couple break points in a set, so you have no reasonable chance of winning it. You are serving in what would be the sixth (and set) game for your opponent. If you win the game, your opponent will have to serve for the sixth game, and you get to go onto to the next set with ...

Sara Errani - Venus Williams 6:0, 0:6... somewhat unusual result after first two sets. We will see about the third set, but it is 2:2 already, so no bagel in the third.

@SebastianLamerichs There you go @SebastianLamerichs, @MartinSleziak is a resident expert in asking questions about tennis.

I am definitely not an expert in tennis. Clearly, jamauss is: sports.stackexchange.com/tags/tennis/topusers

user46190
@MartinSleziak haha. that's already been established, but in terms of Sports SE, you deserve at least some recognition.

I am more of an asker, than an answerer as far as goes.
BTW we are close to 100 questions in that tag, so it seems that jamauss might finally get the well-deserved tag badge.

user46190
@MartinSleziak awesome. slowly chugging away. 3 questions asked today.

Q: Athletes info during the competitions

AleHow can a journalist find so many info and statistics about athletes during the competitions like tennis/athletics/swimming/olympic games? I think journalist can access to a database, and I would like to know if those info are available also for "normal" fans
