5:47 AM
Hello Everyone!
@liam: Thanks for the answer on the Undercut hold question. Is it okay if I just wait over the weekend so that if somebody wants to add an answer he/she might do that?
@Russell: Hi there!

6:02 AM
@soph: That is one of the rarest damn funny SO pages :D Can't stop laughing!

6:48 AM
@Weda morning dude?

7:13 AM
@Ara: Morning dear :-)

@Weda how are you?

@Ara: I m good. No migraines as weekend is up. What abt u?

@Weda bit tired but catching up with my brother this morning... Need the IT guy to comein an set my pc up as an smtp server so I can test sending emails on IIS

@Ara: sounds techie :-)

7:36 AM
@Weda yeah I don't want to bugger the PC trying myself. Nice to talk to my brother though as he's canadian our timezones are off

@WedaPashi Yep, no problem!
Morning all

7:52 AM
@Liam morning morning

8:12 AM
@liam: Thanks dude :-)

@Ara: Canadian?

Possibly a little better
Especially for @RoryAlsop

So - how be ye lily-livered scurvy knaves this fine morn?

@RoryAlsop YES! Arhhh, ye landlubber

8:20 AM
@Liam nay - I've always been a seafaring poltroon!
Avast!
(and other antivirus products :-)

@Rory argh I forgot today be talk like a pirate day!

@Liam can't access that at work - will try and get phone signal to watch it later
@Aravona What?? The single most important thing about today?
2
If only our vote had been today, I would have gone in pirate costume rather than metaltech-ish

@Rory aye, I shall make amends, me hearty
I just had a mouthful of water and conpletely missed my.mouth
I have a wet leg now.
To be fair the pirates in POTC are rather well spoken

@Aravona that could be more how pirates spoke - many were landed gentry
Our TV pirate speak was all down to that one actor

So this just happened on our staging environment....

8:33 AM
@Liam lol!!
Ok my leg dribble is dry I can leave my desk now

@Aravona ?

@Liam LOL
Whilst lady nappies are helpful... I don't think they help with dribbling water down oneself
I think a babys plastic cup bib might be better

8:48 AM
Totally sexy though...
I love that that photo is blatantly some ripped model who hasn't eaten for a month
....in nappy

@Liam lol! My friend calls sanitary towels nappies... And to be fair they kind are
Have you seen the always nights advert? It implies they are nappies by playing baby music as a woman sleeps... Yup. Nappies
ANYWAY... How is everyone today lol?

@Aravona Not bad, not bad
Hopefully actually get some work done today now the visual studio upgrade is over with!

9:12 AM
@Liam hopefully! I need my PC to be able to run an SMTP server so I can test some emails that my code needs to send... Which currently just throughts up mail() errors to my logger file.
Also my 'no calories' diet coke has 1 calorie in it.

@Aravona You seen this
TBF, they keep raising things like this. If you listened to everything you'd just stop eating...

@Liam I only took diet as the tuck shop was out of regular
@Liam artitical sweeteners some say are bad for Acid Reflux too... Things like Stevia or whatever it's called... So usually I try and avoid them. I am a full fat, all sugars, kibda person.
@Dynadin 's grandmother is 95 and always had full fat milks, plenty of thick or double creams and always had real butter... Lol

@Aravona You should tell my girlfriend this. I always cook with butter and cream (only a little) and se's always telling me it unhealthy
It's not, it's fine! :)

9:28 AM
@Liam everything in moderation. As someome who used to have problems with food it took a long time to embrace a lot of ideas about food... Such as some fats are good for you. I'm now helping a friend through a similar experience
Now I eat what I like... For the most part I'm only dieting right now as office life has lead to a LOT of snacking haha... So I've just cut the sweets and crisps out of my work hours. Not exactly a diet as being sensible lol. Everything ib moderation.

10:25 AM
@Aravona Thumbs up to full fat all sugars - my body has evolved to cope with sugar (by turning it into fat or energy) but I can't cope with sweeteners

@Rory agreed! The diet coke I just had was probably worse for me than a regular coke, but it was all our tuck shop had lol
@Rory how are things around you today?

@Aravona The train had more downcast looking folks, but the office were all No voters so some smiles and good chat over bacon rolls. But aside from that and some 'Yarrrr's, it's BAU

@Rory yeah the scots in my office are happier too now as they were No people though they could no longer vote
Now Cameron talks of seperating powers to each country... The next few months are going to be interesting.

10:40 AM
@Aravona definitely

@Rory to be fair I only care that things become more balanced. Other than that I don't understand politics enough to bother.
And hey, a pint on me if I see you about in Edinburgh this Dec :)

At least we can all stop seeing Alex salmond for a bit (well we can)
He reminds me of a fat shark

10:56 AM
@Aravona If you let us know dates/times closer to when you get here, I'll make sure to come out for a drink
@Liam and that's putting it nicely!
Orkney and Shetland were always going to be a No - the SNP has shafted them over the past few years

11:13 AM
@Liam @Rory Alex Salmond looks thoroughly sad in the papers... Bless.
@Rory and about the dates will let you know times but its 5-8th of Dec :)

11:27 AM
@Aravona excellent - will definitely be able to make it out on at least one of those dates

@Rory fab :)
I'm so excited as I've never been to Scotland! And you guys I hear rock Christmas amazingly well

11:48 AM
Weekend is here! :-)

@Weda woop woop!

@Ara: :-)

@Weda having a good day love?

@Ara: yeah, kind of. Currently working with my sensor, so was on roof almost all the day :-)
@Ara: And you?

@Weda yeah on lunch. The IT guy hasn't helped me out yet so now working on some Ajax form submission

12:17 PM
I just had sushi. It's strange

@Ara: sushi? Whats that?
@Ara: Some Asian food?

@Weda a japanese dish... It's like fish / vegetables with rice but it's in small mouthfuls of sticky rice.

@Ara: I hate sticky rice

Only the second time I've had it.
@Weda it was cold too which is a bit weird for me lol

@Ara: Okay.. Ate well?....and here comes @soph

12:34 PM
Good morning all! ;)

Morning @soph-e
@soph: what about this soph '-e' ??? Is it Sophie or something like that?

@Weda I had a sandwich and an apple... The sushi was a coworkers so yeah not bad.
@soph howdy

@weda yeah my username is an unoriginal spinoff of my name, Sophie :P

@soph: Okay. Even I am not WedaPashi on paper :D
@Ara: Good.

@ara sushi is so popular where I live, people go eat it all the time even though it's pretty expensive
I still don't understand why sushi is expensive...it's rice and raw fish :/

12:42 PM
@soph @Ara: 'Weda' when translated into English from Marathi, which is my mothertongue, it says, Weda = Crazy/Mad.. And Pashi is spinoff of 'Prasad' which is my real (first) name

@weda hahaha so I keep calling you crazy as a shorthand for your username? ;)

@soph: Yeah, but thats not a problem anyway :D Even @Ara and @Rory does :D

@soph exoensive here too

Okay, I'll never have Sushi then @Ara @Soph

@Weda we are all mad here ~Cheshire Cat

12:45 PM
@weda it's not bad, you should try it if you get offered some just for the sake of new experiences ;)

@soph that's why I try it now and then... As there are lotsof types and your pallete changes

my favorite sushi are the dragon eye rolls...so good

Someone had a curry at work and now I'm hungry again... Smells delicious

indian food is so tasty! (although I have to admit I don't think I've had real indian food)

@soph I know. The british curry is good though! I'd love to try a real one
Apparently curry is one of our national dishes noe

12:50 PM
lol! that's pretty neat
I had naan bread & butter chicken yesterday, it was great

@soph Lets see if @Ara can buy me a Sushi over coffee when I m there :-) What is you town called @Ara? I forgot.

@Weda hmm I'm sort of between towns. I live in a little village

@Ara: yeah, and that is a good thing :-) I love the countryside more :-)
So far, not a single question today :-(

@Weda my closest town is probably High Wycombe

@Aravona Edinburgh Christmas and Hogmanay rule!
@Aravona I don't do sashimi (the fish bit) but I like vegetarian sushi

1:05 PM
@Rory I cannot wait to do Hogmanay one year!!

Hogmanay? Whats that now?

Scottish New Years
It's like new years but better
I hate new years as it's usually miserable. I'm hoping a Hogmanay will change that!!

@WedaPashi lol - I never realised :-)
@WedaPashi Edinburgh (well, all of Scotland really) has a very big New Year tradition, dating from ancient pagan times, where everyone has a large party, and then visits the neighbours (first-footing) with drinks. Incredibly social!
In the early nineties the main party in the centre of Edinburgh finally got so big they had to start restricting it, so it is a lot less of a crush now, and has a more formalised/professional structure with big-name live bands etc. Unfortunately a wee bit more expensive, but good fun#

@Rory I would pay a large fortune to improve my opinion of new years, and I think a proper Hogmanay would be worth it!

Admittedly the other part of Hogmanay, if you stay in, is the toss up between two channels, one hosting Jools Holland's Hootenanny (excellent for live music) and the other basically being a long episode of Chewin' the Fat :-)
which is a tad less exciting

1:17 PM
People watch TV on new years?

@Russell yeah!
If you stay in in England you gotta watch the new years countdown and the world wide fireworks display
@Rory they are ticketing the London fireworks this year...
Ten pounds each and a limit of 100k people... And people will pay so thats what... An easy 1mil for Boris

user116848
hi all :-)

@Arrow afternoon mate
Hows it going?

user116848
@Aravona I am good. Thanks! And you?

user116848
Evening!

1:25 PM
@Arrow not bad! Looking forward to getting off work in 2 hours

user116848
I see :)

@Aravona I think Edinburgh peaked at 320k, and now they limit it to quarter of a million I think
And tickets here range from £10 up to over £50

@Rory that's kinda cool. I can understand restricting them as it could easily get out of hand

locals (ie those who live right in the city centre) get first dibs on the cheap rate ones - think 2 per household
@Aravona Apparently the '92 or '93 did end up with a lot of crush injuries

I'd like to... But doubt... Have this new years in my own home
@Rory ouch..!

1:40 PM
"You've earned the nice answer badge for how to clean vomit..." -- /hangs head in shame
4

user116848
lol

@RussellSteen hahahahahaha
nice

user116848
I received "nice answer badge" yesterday in English Language and Learners SE :)

@Arrowfar - Nice

user116848
I usually hang around there

1:41 PM
@RussellSteen : ROFL :D :D :D

user116848
@RussellSteen Thanks! So how many votes you got on that answer? :)

@Russell LOL awesome.
I got a nice question for it too!
I'm one off a badge for Good Question on how to pitch a tent in the rain.

@Rory @Russell: I had my sister sitting by my screen the other day, and she read aloud: "You've earned 'Nice Answer' badge for Knee pain while descending the mountain "

2:15 PM
So my PC is now being sorted finally...
But it's almost the end of the day and the update is soooo sloe
Slow* I can barely use google let alone netbeans!

@WedaPashi - hehe

2:50 PM
Alright friends. End of day, time to leave! Enjoy the weekend @Rory @Russell @Ara @soph @liam

@WedaPashi You too 'crazy'
have a good one

@Rory: Yeah! Will be leaving tonight for a trek, be back on Sunday night! :-)

@WedaPashi well, be safe and have fun

@Rory: Aye Aye Captain :-)

@Weda have a good weekend!

2:53 PM
You too @Ara . Stay safe!

I think I'll wrap up as I need to head off home soon too - it has been a long week. Luckily, as it was a No vote, we don't need to do a lot of the activities we had been a bit worried about - like moving head office and some activities to London
:-)

@Rory oh that'd been hefty... Anyway I hope ypu have a great weekend!

@Aravona cheers. You too!

@RoryAlsop I thought you meant, like building a zombie apocalypse bunker for a bit then

1 hour later…
user116848
4:28 PM
@soph-e Hello! How are you doing?

user116848
I hear there was a brawl at Everest last year. I didn't know that. But someone here mentioned it to me some time ago :-)

user116848
So that makes Everest no fun for climbers, I guess.

user116848
Well, see ya all! I guess :p

user116848
Bye!

user116848
6:21 PM
