I want to understand the protocol involved if we need to encrypt data sent over SMTP. I know EHLO, MAIL, RCPT, but before DATA is sent there has to be some security negotiation...what exactly are those handshakes...?

I just realized I didn't take into account instruction reordering and almost ran into this stackoverflow.com/questions/2005211/… , I used events to signal that the data has changed so I think I'm ok. I expected and designed around atomicity problems and race coditions, but I forgot about instruction reordering and storing values in the CPU cache

strangely enough I only found that question by looking at the "reversal" badge recipients on a whim; I'm a little disappointed that the books I read didn't cover that

@deostroll it looks like it's trying to display non-ASCII characters as text (0x00 gets displayed as '.' in some programs), maybe try saving the capture as a pcap file then opening it in something like wireshark?
