To be fair, the deletion happened two minutes after I posted my answer, so it may not be deliberate (they may not have seen the new answer).
 
Not enthusiastic about undeleting the latter one. Easy come, easy go.
The OP's expectation that all inner automorphisms should be involutions is so unrealistic, that counterexamples aren't particularly valuable.
