strange - probably related to some error in the CDN if you're getting it and others aren't.

Well that was weird - I was struggling to get a crank puller into that quad chainring. It kept cross threadding and not sitting right. I tried cleaning the crank threads, grease, oil, and it wouldn't go right. So after a while I tried another identical crank puller and it went straight in.

Both crank pullers have perfectly OK threads, the ones in the crank are a bit munched with age, but it just worked on the second, and not the first.

Is it worth owning a tap for chasing the threads in a crank ? Or once they're naffed the crank is dead ?

Would not be cheap - would have to be some kind of dead-end tap too because its not a through hole.

id throw the crank out unless it was something special

basically i went to bed at 1 AM after drinks with friends then woke up at 6:30 and came on here at 7:30
