3:50 AM
GCMapper is great for airmiles too
Who's he flying with that's charging 200 euros
i've never paid for a bike on a flight

4:54 AM
dunno - go ask on travel.se
200 euros to take his bike, or ~180 to hire one for 12 days

7 hours later…
11:48 AM
its a BSO road bike
steel fork with aluminium frame?
14 speeds overall? assuming 2x7.
Its a $274 USD Road BSO

i can't tell if they're doing something that Walmart does in the US for some of their road bike BSO's
which is install a twist shifter in the center of th ehandlebar
by cutting the handlebar in half and then clamping it back together with the stem
(with some reinforcement)
But those levers don't look like STi and i don't see any bar ends or downtube shifters
I also think that 650A queestion should stay open. Its a niche enough product now that I think its worth answering
esp if it turns out the 650A -> 650B conversion is the way to go

12:59 PM
Worth pointing that out - I've never wrapped my head around the difference between A and B

1:34 PM
yeah i put it in the comments
its like 27" vs 700c
like the rim diameter is a few mm off
afaik

4 hours later…
5:10 PM
I thought the letter designated the intended tire
so, 700c == a 622mm rim with a 'c' sized tire, whatever that is
and 700a would be a smaller rim and a fatter tire that came out at 700mm total radius
@Criggie, broaching is like drilling but with out spinning
just forcing or wiggling a die through the part you need a hole in
there's more to it than that, I'm sure, but that's the basic idea
a lot of people felt the need to add broaching as an answer to that suspension question
