A: What prewritten Pro-forma userscript comments can we use and share?

So here's kind of the deal folks.

the community guidelines for closing as too localized are as follows: older than 4 months (preferably older), and no good answer. Keep in mind that the system marks it as "answered" if there is at least one positively-voted answer, so you can save your flags and upvote good answers if you come across them.

@iSeth Hmmm ... I'd say yes, as it seems to be solely related to the software and it isn't supported by canonical (as far as I know).

We have (at least) 4 questions about a ` debconf: apt-extracttemplates failed: No such file or directory` error when trying to install packages. None are solved, some are probably abandoned, and at least one is being actively worked on. Also, I don't know for sure that there is only one cause of that problem. But we should probably dupe them somehow. Here are the questions, from oldest to newest:

Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10 Need a application and or recommendation for a monitoring system. It will be set up locally and used to record essential data, reports to channels such as: The Weather Channel - Weather Underground - AccuWeather etc.
