@Seth heheh, true. I would've just manually redid the patches, because I'm anal that way, copy them out, remove them from the series, then manually reimport them
In regards to my flag on this one: askubuntu.com/questions/540734/… the OP shows output indicating ath9k, but talks about broadcom drivers. The answer I flagged as NAA took the broadcom bait. It's not a broadcom question.
Apologies if my terminology is off, I'm very new to the Unix environment.

@fossfreedom regarding declined flag on askubuntu.com/questions/539996/…, only a moderator could refund the bounty and thus remove the offensive wording on the bounty notice. Hence the flag.

I came across a good question the other day and I would like to answer it.
However, somebody else already answered it (and has received upvotes). However, the answer is very general and does not give specifics on what to do. It is correct and is the same as my method.
Should I add my own detail...
I needed a tool which expands abbreviations and suggest next word as I type. I use autohotkey on windows. I need similar software on Linux Ubuntu. I tried auto key. Please suggest.
Environment
Wandboard DUAL C1
Ubuntu Trusty using these instruction
Issue
I was able to install Ubuntu Trusty and I am failing to get the Wifi driver to work.

@RPiAwesomeness VT-x if you're an intel guy or AMD-V if you're an AMD guy. I, for one, am a dyed in the wool AMD fellow... I don't hate on intel people though. We're just different.
I considered AMD for a while. Then people convinced me Intel was better...I wonder if sticking with AMD would have been a better idea price/performance wise with all the deals around the FX-series CPUs...
The last time I bought a CPU, the Intel i7 920 was the best of all worlds... And given it's been five or six years and I still don't need to upgrade it (it doesn't even feel slow), I'm either getting old or the power of a CPU just doesn't matter that much any more.
I've always been an AMD guy. Some things seem to be more stable on intel - and I'll admit that fact. Price for performance ratio - AMD consistently out-performs. Features are more consistently unlocked - like hardware virt and overclocking on AMD also. I think you'll find people that have an - it should work OOTB and just be stable...
(Windows, Mac, Server, Business oriented people) tend to be Intel people. Tweaker/modder/technophile people (at least in my experience) tend to more consistently lean towards AMD more consistently.
I want to eventually do a mITX build in the orange version of the BitFenix Prodigy and get some custom panel-work done - have opaque acrylic cut in the shape of the Ubuntu logo and a space for the acrylic etched in the side-panel...maybe even custom orange/aubergine LEDs
@RPiAwesomeness You'ld also want to remember that Intel tends to offer more business niche features, like built in lojack-y stuff and they're working on location awareness for access rights ACL stuff too. At least that's what their marketing cruft said some months ago...
@RPiAwesomeness If I build a desktop again, I'm building a clear acrylic case. Clear standoffs and all. Just hardware suspended in a see-through from every angle box.
Then if you wanted custom looks on top, you could add another sheet of acrylic with colored LEDs at the edges and see if it seems to pass through the acrylic but refract at the logo so the light seems to emanate from the rough edge. Seems like it might work.
I am holding off on buying a CPU until @jrg finds out what CPU he has at home...if it's not one I like, I'm probably buying the i5-4690k. $210 isn't great, but it's $20 off
My system build approach used to be watching barebones kits (mobo+cpu+integrated graphics?PSU?Case) for something that didn't suck bad enough that I didn't want it. Then getting a working thing that didn't suck all at once. Stepping through adding to it as it felt like it needed (video first, then expanding RAM, not usually processor)
It seems you're the opposite sort of person though. You add a lego at a time instead of getting a block of clay and adding to it/subtraction from it.
@hbdgaf Just keep in mind that acrylic softens above 80°C. CPUs and GPUs operate pretty close to that, occasionally above. I'd be extra careful with things like a heatsink brace behind the CPU.
I once built a System that had a motherboard support for dual xeon processor, two video cards, and connect the video cards together with a cable, 8GB DDR3 rams, 320GB SSD, 4TB of harddrives.
That was like 2010. Bet you five bucks, that guy isn't thinking about an upgrade anytime soon
@jrg I think I stand generally correct in my previous observation since I read you as a tinkerer at least as much or more than you WANT to be a server/business guy... you just also happen to be a server guy ;)
@hbdgaf In 4 years when the desktop is feeling old, I will probably be going intel though. Mostly because I'll be installing some sort of VMWare container desktop widget.
@jrg You don't think VMWare is performant on AMD? It worked fine on my older AMD lappie just fine. The only reason I'm running Intel on the box I'm on now, is it was an incredible clearance deal on a touchscreen ASUS at a local brick and mortar. If I were building I would choose otherwise. What motivated the switch?
@jrg That is probably the test bed. It's sort of like how Nvidia got into a spot of trouble for sort of bribing game studios with free pretty incredible hardware to design on their platform.
@jrg It's fine. I still like you jrg. It's not like you said you prefer emacs butterfly wings to sublimetext and/or eclipse for required kit in a GUI environment or anything ;)

@blade19899: What I did was planned a system, put aside money for it every month. By the time I got it, everything was a generation better and slightly cheaper ;p
When I get a job, I'm planning on getting a razer blade ;p
(I'd say 100-200 bucks a month should do the trick in a year and half ;p)
Recently I have noticed, both as a user and a moderator, a good number of questions either being closed as end-of-life or as a development release when they probably don’t need to be.

@NathanOsman I found a local place that sells whole pigs and a really interesting butchering pigs video. Checking prices to see how much I can save breaking down a pig in to usable pieces instead of buying it already broken down at market...

@jrg it just didn't mean anything because people didn't actually READ to get the badge. also, it wasn't one of my first. i had to go back and tag out each section individually after getting a good many others.
@Whaaaaaat with the added bit on that it's a tech company, so most people get that unicorns are new "magic" features. a piece of software can be built from unicorn blood in that it has loads of new features that you want, but have no idea how they work.
oh man, is anyone even on this one anymore: ubuntu.shapado.com/questions looks like it has descended into spamalot, and where spanish questions are going
Remem long back we had a convo regarding vlc not centering the seek bar in full screen mode ? Turns out it is a result of multiple workspaces ... Fixed it by keeping the multiple workspaces number to 1 :D But no multiple workspaces tho :/
@NathanOsman did you go back to a single screen afterwards? that could be it. some saved state from before the switch that makes screen geometry math go all wonky... where it divides some artifact to get the offset for the left padding. seems like a xinerama interaction to me though.
@user3197452 and this is why there is awesome floating around for no reason
