Cool!
I'd love to see a screenshot of how it's coming.

Sure. Gimme a sec.

Looks awesome.

Still needs some work on the attachments bar (ListView of all current attachments is next thing I'm adding) but otherwise it works.
Thanks :)
It's really annoying that I have to wait on someone else so I can continue :P
I guess I could move on a work on the getting email part of the program, but I don't like leaving such a major bug behind :P
And I definitely can't release with that bug still occurring :P

Why to use Multiverse? (What is the purpose of Multiverse repository provided by Ubuntu?)

@Pandya: you want non-free software?

I am asking this because 1. they are non-free (licensing requirements of this software do not meet the Ubuntu main component licence policy) 2.This software is not supported and usually cannot be fixed or updated. Use it at your own risk. ( I found from help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories)
@JourneymanGeek No. (There is Restricted already exist then why to Multiverse?)

hm. Restricted is to multiverse what main is to universe ;p

This was fun:

Q: Weird double-underline for links to answers in user profile

Nathan OsmanI noticed some rather odd behavior when moving the cursor over links to answers displayed in my user profile: I opened Firebug to see if I could determine exactly what was going on here. The cause of the problem was not immediately obvious but it turned out to be a typo. Here are the HTML ele...

Did a bit of detective work there.

5:20 AM
@Pandya yes

Pew pew...

Should I ask on Askubuntu : Why Ubuntu includes/provides Multiverse Repository? (Up-to Restricted it can be understood but I think Multiverse (promote wide range of non-free/proprietary applications) seems not a good idea!)

5:36 AM
That sounds like a legitimate question.
It's definitely answerable.

@hbdgaf: the problem with RICO is the "O": it needs to be organized. There are similar international laws and for maffia-like organisations like the Hell's Angels, but a bank?

Any moderator is here?

<-- sighs what will make people stop recommending useradd for Ubuntu?
@Maythux Hi, only chat-mod here.

@Takkat ok i asked just in case lol
@Takkat anyway thanks

I only said because of my blue suit here ;)

We should add a @MODERATOR ping...

which we mods also call a flag for moderator's attention ;)
but true, sometimes it would help to just ping a mod in chat.

Oli
9:16 AM
@ByteCommander Yeah, that wouldn't be abused :)
@Maythux I'm here.

user136984
@Oli: Perhaps if only users over a certain rep could use it, and if it had a limit for each person in a certain time frame, and people could even be banned from using it.

Oli
@ParanoidPanda It's bad enough when another mod in the Teachers' Lounge (the mod-only room) does a site ping (all mods get buzzed). Few issues need all moderators and we rarely have so many users in here that you can't glance up at the current users and see which mod was last active (and therefore most likely to be here).

@Oli We would need a maximum rating according to rep score maybe. Like one ping per day per 1k?
Or what about a bot lurking around in this room and posting messages with links whenever pinged in a "moderator standby room"?

user136984
Why not having a ping associated with the site so any online mods of the site get pinged?

So whenever any mod has nothing to do, he/she may hang out in the standby room and check if anybody is in need of a diamond member...

user136984
9:20 AM
@ByteCommander: Yes, now I think that is a good idea.

@ParanoidPanda Could lead to abuse and will disturb all mods whenever only one is needed, I think.

user136984
Yes, your idea about the room is probably better.

@oli It was about that offensive comments, I supposed you have seen it, and delete it

@Simone: Винни-Пух has now officially declared war on you! >:)

user136984
@Fabby: And then immediately after that (although the message has been removed) he said something rude about Винни-Пух, someone flagged it up, a mod came in, and chat-banned him! >:D

I like Winnie the Pooh better then Винни-Пух, because it means Винни-говно.

user136984
Although they seem to have fully removed the message now, it was there just after the bit where Винни-Пух declared war on him.

and that is much better then Winnie the dust...
>:-)

user136984
I just prefer Винни-Пух because I just think that the Russian versions were so much better, especially because it was just the animals and not the boy.

1:31 PM
I like the look on their face when I explain to Russian Children what Winnie the Pooh actually means! >:)

user136984
And in the English version they make a very big point of saying that Pooh bear is not real right at the beginning of the book. And I feel it kind of ruins it.

Traumatized for the rest of their childhood!
It's just different culture...

user136984

Winnie the Pooh was created by a writer to amuse his children...
It was a very personal thing that just happened to sell into the millions!

user136984
Yes, well he could have changed some of the book before he released it.

As an adult, you should read it again with that in hindsight...
(the English version)
Now that you know it was just written for one family,

user136984
But don't you prefer a bear that has limbs that do not touch his body, rather than a less magical bear?

it'll give you some insights into roaring 20s Britain...

Right! :D

user136984
@Fabby: Can I then get it so that I have as many colours as I want?

user136984
I would like to have this many colours: 16777216

user136984
They don't have to be displayed.

2:14 PM
This is digital, not analog. "as many colours as you want" is limited to the colour depth of your screen (2-4-8-16... bit)

user136984
But these colours won't be displayed on a screen.

user136984
The computer just needs to read them.

user136984
I know it sounds a bit odd, but I need them to be values represented in the colour form, but not really colour.

user136984
But I am also my making a custom image file type, so that should be fine.

user136984
@Fabby: So if I could any decimal number and converted it into hex, could that be a colour, or is there a specific hex range which does the colours?

user136984
2:20 PM
Or is there no limit but your display if you are to display?

Did you read everything on colour depth above?
That's the answer...

Q: Lock individual application interface

Oceanic_PandaCan I lock a particular application's interface without locking the whole screen? It would be very useful at work to be able to leave certain applications open when leaving my desk as colleagues often access my desktop to add changes. I would however like to lock out pidgin/skype/firefox/thunderb...

^ I have no idea, is this possible?

@ParanoidPanda To be an excellent problem solver, you need to know MORE about the problem then you need to give the best possible answer!

I think to block individual applications does not make sense.

@A.B. You can run apps under a different user context, but not block access unless the application has been designed that way...
I'll answer...

user136984
@Fabby: So about the deep colour bit on wiki, it says billions of colours, so why do most say there is a limit at 0x1000000?

Oli
@RPiAwesomeness Yeah they've been doing similar things for a while

Well...I know I'm never using SourceForge. Ever.

@A.B. It doesn't. That's why Linux is a multi-user multi-tasking system. It can be done using that. (see answer)
@ParanoidPanda FFFFFF Red, FFFFFF Green FFFFFF blue

And 10 points more for you =)

user136984

@ParanoidPanda FF * FF * FF = 4096 if using 2-byte colour depth

I only get to approve tag wiki edits.

user136984
And I guess that that is just like another review queue, but it is not much like 10k.

For you: Good!

For the site??? No opinion! :D

Oh, and did you know you still get +2 per tag edit, even if you don't get points for normal edits any more.

user136984

Q: Openbox Session mount webcam/other usb devices?

StevenI am following http://thepcspy.com/read/converting-ubuntu-desktop-to-kiosk/ guide to turn my Ubuntu into a Kiosk, and everything works fine except when my Google Chrome boots it doesn't have any of my web cams I have attached or any of my devices. If I Ctrl-Alt-F1 and run lsusb I see the devices....

user136984
Why?

user136984
