Ooh. Ouch.

12:33 AM
Finally! Touchdown Seattle!

12:50 AM
GO Patriots.
2

Wut.
That was an incredible play.
Touchdown with 2 seconds left in the half.

hits 1k

1:08 AM
I heard american football and a canadian rooting for a team. Something is wrong with the universe.
I more expected "that's not football, this is football" jokes and whatnot on superbowl weekend from an international community.

Canada is heavy on football too.
We have the CFL - the equivalent of your NFL.
3 downs instead of 4 and a 110 yard field instead of 100 yards.
And our uprights are right on the goal line.

@RPiAwesomeness Game ain't over 'till the clock reaches 0 ;)
Huh, didn't know about the downs @NathanOsman. I bet that makes it interesting.

1:23 AM
@Seth Oh, but it's gonna reach 0 ... with you behind ;)
jk, that final play was pretty darn gutsy

Seattle has a few Canadian players.

I honestly have no clue why that Patriot was playing so far off the Seahawk receiver. He should have been way farther up :P

He wasn't until he facemasked him @rpi

@Seth Wut? I'm talking about the final touchdown...

Ohhh, that one ;-)

1:26 AM
hi

@Seth Yeah. The penalty before was a good call - no denying, the Patriot grabbed his facemask.

I'm wondering why they had K.J. covering Gronk.. That's not right.

@Seth Ya done got GRONKED! ;)

;-)

Gronk was all like "No, you may not have this ball. Bad defender. Bad"
Holding it way up in the air.
Why on earth has my profile pic not updated yet..
facepalmdesk
I didn't hit save. woooow

1:30 AM
That keeps getting me too.. Didn't used to need to do that.

@Seth ikr

Gravatar FTW.

Stupid half time show :P I didn't come to watch Katy Perry dance around and make noise.
I came to watch FOOTBALL

@rpi EXACTLY.
@xiaodongjie looks good.

1:34 AM
Have you ever seen the Dock in Ubuntu?

Chris Matthews for MVP!

Wow. What a play!

i'm developing it.

@xiaodongjie it looks very realistic.

okay, when i have done to develop it, i'll send you the deb file.

1:37 AM
3 is better than nothing I guess.

3? what is it?

@xiaodongjie is it open-source?

not now.

@xiaodongjie oh, we're just talking about the football game.

it's not opensource and closesource
not
because it's in developing.
@NathanOsman football game?

1:40 AM
The American Superbowl.

@NathanOsman yeah, they shouldn't have done a draw on that one.. But yeah, better than nothing.

I dont have cable so Im not watching it
I was expecting bigger fireworks for hitting 1k

I predict the Patriots by 7.

Wut.
@FlackBot who let you out of your cage?

that katie perry show jacked up my wifi, causing it to disconnect

1:48 AM
Lol.

as a result, my ebay sniper failed, losing me a nice tablet for $80
so, she's dead to me (even more than she was), and if the Patriots win, they'll be tainted!

Bad @FlackBot D:

THEY USE DEFLATED BALLS!

Congrats @Virusboy!

That was a good run.

1:51 AM
People are a bit preoccupied ;-)

WHY IS MY INTERNET DROPPING

Wow...

Awww, so close.

Their running game is on fire.
Woooooo!
Nobody near him.

Ooh, nice sack.

Aw...
That was a good throw though.

jrg
Yeah. Sports!

@Whaaaaaat: lol.
I'm currently trying to work out how much it'll cost me to go 4K. The monitor I want is ~800 dollars retail, and I need to plan for a GPU upgrade to game on it.
Though on the short term, I'll just game on my 1280x800 monitor

2:43 AM
wow
i wish i had that money
the only thing i can currently afford is the thermal paste

Oh dear.

I don't have that money now ;p
(well, I'd be blowing a good chunk of my paycheck on it)

@Mateo of course.

This is where the game gets good.

2:57 AM
Wow, he caught that!

Unbelievable catch.

I don't like how much time is left...

Oh dear.

Oh my...

I'm speechless.

@Seth I agree
Had they run it, they would have won ;)

that was a horrible idea

BUT THEY DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it was good @RPiAwesomeness (the game)

@Seth Far better than last years on soooo many fronts.
Close right to the end
I can't believe that bobble catch though, Dang!

3:13 AM

That was the craziest game I have ever seen.

3:15 AM
@Whaaaaaat: Oh. Also, I'm getting paid over minimum wage now so... ;p

Because Bill Nemacheck
You dont fuck with Bill Nemacheck

i'm getting paid 20, but only for contracted jobs
and i don't get many of those at all

(went from 300 a month to over 5x as much ;p)

Super Bowl XLIX was an American football game between the American Football Conference (AFC) champion New England Patriots and National Football Conference (NFC) champion Seattle Seahawks to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2014 season. The Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28-24. The game was played on February 1, 2015, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Kickoff was at 4:30pm MST (6:30pm EST/23:30 UTC). This was the second Super Bowl played in that stadium (XLII), and the third one held in the Phoenix metropolitan area (XXX at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe...

Q: Load a service in Linux programatically

AnzzGiven a service name(created by user) and its path, how can I load and start the service at runtime from a C++ program in Ubuntu. Does there exists functions similar to the Windows functions such as CreateService, OpenSCManager, OpenService, etc. for doing this?

@SmokeDetector you are on a roll today I see :-P
@blade19899 "old" doing a final dance before getting nixxed.

@KasiyA: press the up arrow in the search? :P ;-)

10:24 AM
No, I mean last 202 in each line not last in file ;)

@Oli: askubuntu.com/questions/579385/… I wanted to leave a comment "Welcome to AskUbuntu. ;-) AskUbuntu is a free community-based Q&A site. For commercial support (including Spanish) please contact Canonical (the company behind Ubuntu) at: canonical.com/services/contact-us"; but the Q is only visible in the review queue...
@KasiyA: looking now

Oli
@Fabby (Not sure I should tell you this before you action it but...) it's an audit question. The real thing is long deleted.

:D Closed... Test passed... <Sigh>
Thanks!

Morning!

@KasiyA: only search& replace allow regexp... Search apparently does not (standard)
Looking at plugins now...

10:30 AM
HI
how to execute linux command from shell script ?

@abhi You mean how to write a bash script (xy.sh)?

yes
i tried like this hello.sh

@KasiyA: 202\r or 202\n depending on the file does the trick!

echo 'notify-send boom!!'
but its not executing

10:33 AM
notify-send boom!!!
without the echo

okey

notify-send is an application

At about half of the page they start with scripting

m dumm
sorry how could i miss this

echo just writes its arguments to the standard output stream

10:34 AM
yea got it :) txs @ByteCommander

can we do the same with c++

@abhi Yep, you use the command system(String cmd);
So you would call **system("notify-send boom!!!");
Maybe there are other solutions, but I think this one is the easiest to just execute a single terminal command.

its giving complie time error like this expected constructor, destructor, or type conversion before ‘(’ token
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>

system("notify-send boom!!");

@abhi have you ever programmed in c(++) before?
You forgot the int main(int argc, char **argv) { ... }

10:46 AM
yes i am doing Programming Principles and Practice Using c++
okey got yea .. txs again

11:00 AM
type casting is there in shell scripting ?

@abhi: No. for further info: tldp.org/LDP/Bash-Beginners-Guide/html

@Fabby txs !
can i ask you some thing guys
?

@abhi I hope you can :-)

i my office i have a ip camera and i am using nmap to find out which port is open . and i have that info
so i have written shell script like this
echo "Please Enter Your Number";
read no;
number=0
while [ $number -lt $no ]; do
echo "Number = $number"
nmap -sT 192.168.1.224 -p 80
number=$((number + 1))
done
so it will effect the camera ?
or my sytem will run slow ?

11:17 AM
^\_(°_°)_/^ ? no idea...

okey

why can't you assume 80 (internet) is open?

its 80/tcp

@Rinzwind internet != http ???

11:34 AM
@Fabby thanks I used <Ctrl>+<H> (replace...) option for that.
Note that I checked "Match as regular expression" too.

if port 80 / tcp open and service http what dose that mean exactly ? any idea ?

@KasiyA: Cool! (it depended on your use case!)
@abhi: you need to read more books before you start on these quests...

I would improved its formatting but it is just so long! :D

11:37 AM
@Fabby: Hey! I was just editing that Q too!!!

@Toroidal: I'l help!

let me try it :)

Go ahead!
@ByteCommander: sorry!

user136984
And when finally completing the edit I bet that it would tell me that someone else has just edited the post and it would all be for nothing! :D

Has happened to me too!

11:38 AM
Hm, let's see which one will be taken...

user136984
Phew... Oli edited it and made it a hole lot shorter! :D

@Toroidal Just happened to me. Fabby was the one faster than me...

user136984
:D

@ByteCommander: I just approved your version!
:P

user136984
Sometimes I am editing a post though and it is really long and when finally done it says someone beat me to it, but when I look at their edit all they have done is corrected one typo! :D And then I have to start with my edits all over again... :(

user136984
11:39 AM
:D

@Toroidal: The master himself just edited that question...
Toroidal: copy-paste before you save!

user136984
@Fabby Yeah, I have started doing that now! :D

Ah, @Fabby you have 20 more review on "close vote"

What is really annoying is, when you edit a long post in the review queue (e.g. translating from Spanish), and after you submitted it, AU tells you it was just a test and the post is deleted long ago!

@ByteCommander: please don't thank people...

user136984
11:41 AM
Did you see Olis's comment on that post though: "Let's try and make it not look like a foot."? :D

@Oli I noticed you edited this but left it open. Isn't it OT?

@terdon I don't know, I'm having a look to work out if they're just using it incorrectly. It don't think it's a programming question - they're just using something and Python is giving them a stack trace.

Just being polite...

Yeah... All thanks are always removed by everyone to "keep it neutral"
and avoid things like

11:42 AM
@Oli OK, I was about to VTC when I saw you'd edited and refrained.

etc...

Would never write that... Only things that do not sound like screaming...

Oli
Argl all these exclamation marks and caps are damaging my calm.

I used to be polite in the beginning as well, now I'm just neutral...
:D
There you go...
back to calmness...

Mhm. And what about you loooonnng comments about the telepathy antenna? Neutral?

11:44 AM
@ByteCommander Should I remove that one?

No, it's funny!
;D

(from my standard comments)
OK, I'll keep it then...
I have this one too: Welcome to AskUbuntu! ;-) Next time, please use your [Shift] key for correct CaPiTaLiSaTiOn! :-)
Welcome to AskUbuntu! ;-) I'm sorry and, please, blame it on me: I'm confused and confusing... But... What's your question??? :/

But I just would say this is not less non-neutral than a short line with Please or Thanks concluding the question...

Look, If I see it somewhere, I won't be deleting is...
But if I'm editing the question anyway, I'm deleting is...
so don't be offended!
For me being less polite then you when this happens.

Oli
@terdon Yeah that was PEBKAC

11:47 AM
:P
:D

And why do you even write a conclusion of the Q in italics?

I used to teach wordperfect a long time ago...

So what's the matter when there is a Please before it and it ends with a Thank you?

@Oli Aye, well, it did look like there did.

user136984
@Fabby: Oh dear someone else has come again and removed the italicization from one of the questions I edited! :(

11:48 AM

can some one suggest good book which cover web application attacks bit of networking n shell scripting ?

@KasiyA: used to be the same for 128-bit encryption...

Oli
@Toroidal On such a short question, I don't really understand why it needs to be broken up with formatting at all. It's just a few paragraphs.

11:50 AM
Of course I do. I only have to wonder how long it will last...

@abhi If you want a better book on shell scripting then the one I already gave you,

@abhi Sounds like you would want to learn some black magic on other people's networks???

take this one: tldp.org/LDP/abs/html
They are both in PDF format too!
900 pages instead of 173...

user136984
@Oli: Ok, I do see what you mean, I will adjust my protocols with that then so that I will only italicize the question part of the question if the entire question needs for you to scroll down the page to read all of it (basically really long questions :D ). :)

@Toroidal please don't make original context as italicing

11:53 AM
@Fabby txs .
@ByteCommander no i just want to learn more on web attacks . because going forward it will help in my career :)

Well, me too... ;)

@Toroidal Just remember that some posts need a lot more than formatting. A lot of posts would benefit substantially more from somebody translating them into proper English, than adding a load of bolding.

@oli regarding http://askubuntu.com/questions/580812/why-are-you-still-using-wget-whereas-theres-aria2c
Is there a place to propose to switch wget for aria2c?

Oli
@Rinzwind I don't really know any more... The ubuntu-devel list is probably the main place for suggestions like that these days but it would either need to be a drop-in replacement (with its own wgetscript to handle legacy apps) or be added as well... I don't think there's really enough of a reason to add it to the CD image though, unless it's clearly so much better on every level.

well HE believes it is >:D Might be an idea to add into your answer (maybe he is devoted enough to get it done _O- )
