Q: Difference between /run and /var/run

Is there any difference between /run directory and var/run directory. It seems the latter is a link to the former. If the contents are one and the same what is the need for two directories?

What happens is that it get exessively slow (0.2-0.3x) and it crashes when it reaches around 1Gb. k3b software buffer goes immediately to 100% when the writting starts and the device buffer oscilate...

think "logical name declared by the driver" and "physical index in order of load at boot"
