Q: Cant revert back to ubuntu from lubuntu

Seung LeeSo this was my first time doing a dual boot in my computer and i successfully did install ubuntu. However, in ubuntu i curiously downloaded lubuntu (since someone said that it was faster since lubuntu was feeling a bit slow) and unfortunately, I liked the layout of ubuntu at the end and got used ...

sigh. I skipped setting up the network because I wasn't sure if VMWare would handle that automatically or not (silly me) and now I'm stuck with no network and no iw or wpa-supplicant D:
Guess I'll save that for the morning. Night guys.

Is the whole site glitching for other people too? I can't get the editors to accept my posts :(

ehm? I see no glitches at the moment
and have not seen any yet :=)

we really need more of these challenges: askubuntu.com/questions/553219/…
lots of fun

@don.joey go visit coding stack >:=D

:)

I copied your last answer to a text file after upvoting @don.joey ;)

I don't necessarily want to code. I love it when tools actually already exist.
@Rinzwind well that's a compliment I value more than fake internet points! I have updated it just a few secs ago

1 thing @don.joey you aded an example. Might be better to include a display of the original files content instead of just the merged one

@Rinzwind you mean copy part of the question?

even though it is in the question it will make the answer a lot easier to read:-)
yes @don.joey

@Rinzwind that's a good suggestion. doe ik meteen

another one... how does it determine the field seperator?
will it work with 1 file using a , and the 2nd a ; or a tab? >:D

3:04 PM
untested csvtool -t TAB -u COMMA cat input.tsv > output.csv
it allows for some different separators, but I don't know exactly

aha makes sense :)

answer updated
changing the separators is also very easy with csvtool
csvtool combined with csvkit is very powerful

@don.joey can't upvote it >:)

especially for python programmers
thanks for your feedback rinz

@Seth If I were to completely rewrite an answer as an edit, should I just add it as a new answer instead?
(as in, no existing content remains, 100% change)?

uh, yeah.
that's probably what you should do.

erkay

I can't think of a single exception to that off the top of my head.

even for mods?
also, i'm insanely upset right now. My keyboard arrived yesterday to the post office, 30 minutes AFTER i got there
so, now i need to wait until tomorrow....

@Whaaaaaat You don't see the two deleted comments.

9:06 PM
How can I? They're deleted...

Exactly.
Things are not quite as they appear ;)

So, by all logic, I could not know.
I noticed an answer completely edited.

more or less. You could, of course, read the edit summary :)

i did
there were no comments

sigh.

9:08 PM
i knew they were deleted by foss, but without any idea of what they were...
i could only assume they were specific "data values" that worked.

Basically the answer said he needed xbacklight, the OP figured out the exact command and the OP gave the bounty to him. foss just removed the useless info and edited in the full command.
@Whaaaaaat I know that feeling.

well
still, that would seem to be a better answer than an edit
(or at least, that's what I'd do)
@Seth "useless info": the entire post was removed and re-written from scratch

blackcornailI can't download anything in Ubuntu terminal. I would like to download the gnome commander for reach the FTP (because with it is easier). Here the download status is 0%, in turn there is net. If I take an apt-get update the download status is 0% yet. Why I can't download anything?
