@Mesentery its all right. We don't want to tell that now. All we need right now is just some opinions. Later on, when we talk to SE, we can ask someone here to build one...
But what seems missing here is participation :/
@Chris how does a meta post become "hot meta post" on homepage at biology.SE?
Maybe that would help, as people would then discover that there is some such thing going on

@another'Homosapien' This is done by an algorithmus from the system. Probably by the number of accessions over a certain time...

6:30 AM
Then it seems difficult here :(

@chris based on what @terdon has said about homework questions, how can I edit the homework closing reason line?
When I vote to close as off-topic, there are many reasons from which I can select one...one of them is "homework questions are off-topic unless..." How do I edit this line?
To add "Do not close lack-of-research questions as homework questions. Homework only refers to homework or assignments. Downvoting is sufficient for questions which lack enough research. See [a meta post I'd write] for more information."

@another'Homosapien' This is relatively simple. Choose "off-topic" and then the last one from the list "other". Then you can edit the reason for being off-topic.

@another'Homosapien' You can't. Only mods can edit the standard close reasons and anyway, we'd need to get a consensus on meta or at least a discussion first.

@Chris no I mean something else. Lemme give an image
@terdon yes thats what I mean
@chris can you edit it to add this line?
I will post a meta post very soon (maybe right now)
But I often fail to see participation by people on meta posts

@another'Homosapien' This is another problem. Participation is sometimes too low. You can also see this in the voting queue.

@Chris yeah, that meta post (redisgning biology.SE) seems almost dead right now

my proposal for an area51 trial site on bengali language; probably going to die because it did not yet recieved the minimum support (*)so enthusiasts please visit. I'm sorry to use this chat room but no ways,SE does not support informing others
due to topic restrictions

Q: What am I looking at in Franklin's Photo 51 of DNA?

RobertHere's Rosalind Franklin's famous Photo 51, the X-ray diffraction image of DNA from which Watson and Crick deduced its structure: My understanding is that it depicts a short segment of DNA shown from the side (so the axis that the strands wind around would run up and down through the center of...

I don't see the purpose of asking what research they've done in this case. The question seems to be well-formed and clear.
If we try to close any question that can be answered by reading another resource, we don't have any left.

@MadScientist I agree. And it is really a biology question.

@Chris Well, to be honest, it seems like cheating to me, since I already linked the paper! But the link is here, if anyone wants to make a good explanation based on it, please feel free to do it. — Gerardo Furtado 4 mins ago
Cheating?

9:01 AM
@terdon I don't think so. He digged out the relevant paper so I think he should get the credit for it. And not by posting it in the comments only.

9:16 AM
I know. I don't understand how it could possibly be cheating. Maybe they don't get the difference between a comment and an answer.

@terdon And he wrote quite an answer...

Oh wow! Indeed he did!

@MadScientist not meant to give close vote, I was just asking that, since I had found a link very quickly. And, honestly, I was very eager to answer it...
Until gerardo wrote a complete answer to it ;)
