@MattDMo Good to know that you are still around.And no apologies necessary, we all have varying amounts of time. All the best for the future...
@WYSIWYG All the best for the defence.

@Chris Thanks. I think there is still some time to go. One of the referees has not yet replied.
Interesting paper:

@WYSIWYG It always takes time - in the end this is a bureaucratic process. I think it took about 3 month from the day I handed in my thesis at the faculty to the day I finally defended it.

2 months gone for me.
But I am relieved that my paper is finally accepted. I had bad experience with a really lousy editorial staff. Most unprofessional I have ever seen.
Then we submitted to another journal.
The review was relatively quick. They accepted the MS on the very next day of submission of the revision.
Now, I can at least apply for post-docs.
This paper should have been published a year ago.
So, this is my recommendation to others: FEBS letters sucks. Don't ever submit there.

@WYSIWYG Looks interesting.
@WYSIWYG I'll keep it in mind :-)

@Chris Any suggestion on interdisciplinary labs working on cellular/molecular evolution?

@WYSIWYG Nope, sorry. Do you have any region where you want to go to?

@Chris I guess I do not want to go to the Orange Emperor's empire :D
Would go only if there is a good enough reason (such as going to Harvard) :P

@WYSIWYG I can totally understand that.

How was the questions closed when this site was new? Nobody would be having 3000 rep :)

xD Maybe the moderators would be tasked to do that

7:59 PM
@Mesentery The rules for beta sites are more relaxed. Additionally, there are mods.

@Chris Greetings Chris!

@Mesentery The list in the first answer compares the reputation needed for private and public and graduated (designed) sites : meta.stackexchange.com/questions/58587/…
