@biogirl Great. The name of the book is also quite interesting, perhaps a prelude to the interesting contents within. And true, science itself is so interesting that no matter what branch you choose, you can always satisfy your intellectual hunger. Best of luck for that.

@biogirl. awakenings is nice.. it is about parkinsons (post encephalitis)
@SatwikPasani @biogirl.. I am glad that you guys have gotten a good exposure of biology and research before deciding on your degree. (I had not even dissected a cockroach :P). It is nice that sites like these are quite helpful to young students. It will really make a huge difference for those whose schools are shitty. Mine was :P

Medicine is a good field.. unfortunately in India you would have to do the rural internship.. It might not be that bad also. My dad would have been happy if I had become a doctor like him.. But personally I found the daily practice so boring. I thought that doctors are too pedantic. I liked my dad's medical journals though (the case reports and sometimes you would get to read about a very peculiar disease).. @SatwikPasani.. you can also check out "Tell Tale Brain" by VS Ramachandran

It's almost creepy that I have almost 90 profile views here, comparing with others of similar rep, who have closer to 20. Wonder why that is...
