@ssdecontrol People will naturally be reluctant to close a post that someone puts a bounty on. (If it does close, your points are wasted.) When it happens, it's usually let run its course ... and then it might get closed. [One obvious exception would be where it seemed a bounty was being used as a way to avoid closure.]
@RobertF If they've used chat before you can @ them. If they've never used chat, nothing happens.
But you can always comment under an answer. Both the answerer and the poster of the question will be notified, as will up to one person you @ in the comment.
