Q: Identify a movie about an autistic person stop doomsday

VahnThis movie is about meteor/space object hitting the earth. This is what i remember about this movie. This movie is not very old. Perhaps around early 2000's There's a scene of a woman scientist which stated that all the paper in the world is not enough to make the calculation about the meteor/s...

Uhm, so my nephew informed me that the Bane character in Batman & Robin actually was portrayed more accurately than Tom Hardy's Bane in The Dark Knight Rises because of the venom stuff that is pumped into his brain that helps give him his strength. Wut? Also, that Bane was born in Mexico and his father was a Dr. This superhero stuff is so confusing. Ugh.

that's pretty much accurate.
except I don't remember his dad being a doctor.

Oh, I thought that he was just messing with me.
I was going on how stupid Batman & Robin was and he was telling me that they were more accurate with Bane than in The Dark Knight Rises. I seriously thought that he was joking ;)

and technically, he was born in a fictional island in the Carribean
not mexico
but it's got a spanish name, so close enough

Aha! So, I can come back with him on that! Awesome! ;)

in the current era, bane's father was a political prisoner who escaped, so the government put bane in prison in his place.
but those comics didn't start until after they'd filmed The Dark Knight Rises, so it probably doesn't count.
I'm not sure how much different his old backstory was, but the basic idea is the same

2:42 AM
...and Bane escapes the asylum in Gotham, in turn freeing a bunch of villians and then he ends up teaming up with Batman to prevent "venom" from being distributed on the street?

i dunno about that.
the storylines in the movies rarely come straight from the comics, they're usually bits and pieces from lots of different stories.

Yeah, and I know zero about the comics, so I always just take whatever the movies say as what the comics say. Hence my 20+ year belief that Jack Napier was actually the Joker this whole time from Tim Burton's Batman ;)
and that Jack Napier was the killer of his parents. Ugh.

he did fight other villains a lot, but i see nothing about him teaming with batman.
but I have not read nearly as much DC stuff as Marvel stuff, so it's possible.

Hmmm...I will have to ask him where he got that from. Is it Dizzle who is the DC person or is it Ankit?

i don't think either of them are big DC comic guys, not sure.
thaddeus would be the one to ask.
but he's been AWOL a lot lately.

2:58 AM
Okay, no biggie. Thanks :)

DC wikia says there was a storyline there Bane thought his father was Dr. Thomas Wayne... Batman's father.
and Batman helped him figure out the truth and get him off the Venom drug and start over.

I don't want you people thinking that I am actually into this stuff or anything :P

(his father was not really Dr. Thomas Wayne)

Batman's father was a Dr.?

a surgeon, I think.

3:01 AM
I thought that he owned Wayne Enterprises.

he inherited Wayne Enterprises from his dad, but he became a surgeon too

jfc
:P

3:32 AM
Wait. Lemme check my email. I am subscribed to Thaddeus Medium Digest thing that he writes on about that stuff...

Batman's father made a better batman than Batman did.
When Barry Allen fucked everything up with time travel

Why? What did his father do?

Bruce was shot instead of MA and PA wayne. MA went crazy and became the joker

Okay, are you trying to confuse me? ;)

And Dad raged out, beat Joe Chill to death with his fists, turned Wayne Enterprises into a Casino like Atlantic city, became an alcoholic over grief for bruce, and became the Punisher really shooting every bad guy. And he uses the Bacardi bat as his logo
He's pretty awesome.
Nope, this is 100% legit.
And technically, it's going to be part of the Flash season 3.
Watch the Flashpoint Paradox animated film. They adapted the Flashpoint comics pretty well.

3:41 AM
Uhuh
:P
My brain hurts now.

As far as Bane goes, his cartoon version was pretty boss. Both a hitman and luchador, he tracked down Batman with his intelligence and then fought him on Venom. He wasn't a brain dead grunt like in B&R, or the non-steroid pawn knight from DKR.

Wasn't he super intelligent and spoke several languages and stuff?

But DKR did do the Knight fall event that Bane is most famous for, breaking Batman's back. The movie bane was a let down in both movies tho

Did Bane actually blow up the Pittsburgh Steelers Gotham Rogues in the comics as well? ;)

In batman and robin? No, all he did was get bigger, he was a muscle man for Ivy. His lines consisted of GRRR, ROAR, ugh and screamsm

3:49 AM
@Passerby No, in DKR...when he blows up the football stadium.

In the cartoons and comics, he's both very intelligent and very strong.
Idk, he normally doesn't do terrorist or exploding buildings from what I've read. But I don't read batman comics extensively

4:05 AM
@Walt do you remember a 95-2003 action movie. I'm recalling it supposedly was like a rain man type hero, used numbers or something to stop a explosion or terrorist plot?

Q: Married man and salesman have very pleasant conversation after marital argument

poriI've been looking for this movie for a long time. I watched the movie with Turkish dubbing in 2005-2007. This must be a TV movie. Might be an American or British film, I don't know. The film takes place in one room. A married couple have an argument at home. The woman wants to divorce her husba...

But still no answer.
Where is our savior?

@AJ I guess it's their rep to do with what they want to.
Hey, I spent almost all of my shift last night trying to answer Ixrec's frigging Pulp Fiction briefcase question. I finally gave up. Ugh.

This article is just 6 months old, so may be yes.

6:15 AM
I hate why PK is on the top

A J
This is a ranking of the highest grossing Indian films which includes films from various languages based on the conservative global box office estimates as reported by reputable sources. There is no official tracking of figures and sites publishing data are frequently pressured to increase their estimates. During the 1940s cinema in South India accounted for nearly half of India's cinema halls which had grown to 75% of all film revenues in India as of 2009. Indian films have been screened in markets around the world since the early 20th century. As of 2003, there are markets in over 90 countries...

user116211
@AnkitSharma PK was okay for me; I would say it is over-rated.

A J
I thought Baahubali would break the record.
But it ended up at second place.

@AJ I really really hate that list, good films never make it
And why the hell Dhoom 3 becoem hit grrrr......

A J
No good movie ever makes this list. This is a universal truth.

6:18 AM
I only like two from the top list 3 idiots and Bahhuballi
@AJ maybe sequel will break it

A J
I hope so. After all Rajamouli left audience in a what-do-we-call-it.

user116211
@AnkitSharma gibberish conventional bolly movie; but kinda liked the songs.

A J
Replace what-do-we-call-it with a proper term.

Best thing in the universe Housefull is the 3rd highest grossing franchise in the Indian industry and Gang of wassupur not in top 25 . Why I am alive

A J
Did you see Neerja

6:21 AM
@AJ not yet, wanted to check

A J
Perhaps this is the only documentary/biographical movie that reached 100 Cr mark.

user116211
@AnkitSharma Haven't watched both the films; but am damn sure Housefull is crap nonsense.

@MAFIA36790 Yeah a bad prestige ripoff , with borrowing and ruining elements of other magic base films
@MAFIA36790 Seen the first one, enough for me, not into dam fucking dumbest sequels

user116211
I've stopped watching any Bolly movie with some exceptions, though.

@AJ Indian audience don't like documentary until you have big cast in it and sonam is no big cast and she can't even act most of the time , I heard that she acted well in this oen
@MAFIA36790 Don't do that, Bollywood still make good films, like udta punjab, madaari ..... sarabjeet was good too

user116211
6:25 AM
@AnkitSharma That's why I said, with some exceptions .

Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag kashyap never disappoint me

A J
There has been many documentary/biographical movies this year.
I've counted 9

I did whole Shakespeare challenge with Vishal bhardwaj films meta.movies.stackexchange.com/questions/2311/…
@AJ they are better then bolly masala
Ooops I still have to check maqbool to complete my trilogy
Anyways lately I am impressed with Aksahy kumar a lot, Special 26, Airlift, Rustom ....all of his real life based films are pretty good

user116211
@AnkitSharma I did really like Haider.

user116211
@AnkitSharma Saw the first one; it was intriguing.

6:31 AM
@MAFIA36790 I had a issue with Haider for representing kashmir half heartily but teh film was amazing

@MAFIA36790 also watch other 2, pretty good
@AJ anybody can star anything , blame @MAFIA36790 ;D

user116211
@AnkitSharma Oh! didn't know that. did they portray Kashmir wrongly?

@MAFIA36790 They shown half side of the story. it was the time when army was not the only one who did wrong but people were wrong too and completely avoided Kashmiri pandit story except one dialogue. They just victimized them when they were mix bag of people.

user116211

@MAFIA36790 Obviously
All three examples are worng

Q: Why does Stan Lee make a cameo in The Princess Diaries 2?

RedCaio Transcription: Why did Stan Lee make a cameo in The Princess Diaries 2? Was this foreshadowing Disney buying Marvel? Is Princess Mia going to be an Avenger? Q: Is there a specific term name for Tim Burton's Gothic dark comedic style?

@Passerby Do you mean this question?

8:37 AM
@steelerfan Superficially maybe, but if you look closer, you might find that the Bane in The Dark Knight Rises wasn't that bad of an adaptation:
14
A: Why is Bane not a Mexican wrestler?

Napoleon WilsonThere are indeed comments from various of the filmmakers why they went in this direction. The overall tenor of those comments has been nailed by you in the question already, though. It was for the same reason that Ra's Al Ghul's regeneration and resurrection abilities have been reduced to tricker...

@AJ Sorry, neither ring a bell. IIRC, OP said they're very obscure, low-budget films. I wish I knew, though; OP really wants to find them and they're good ID questions, to boot.

Afterall, that's what it was, an adaptation, and especially the venom aspect was not handled that inaccurately, if you consider that they couldn't depict a guy pumped full of super-soldier stuff from huge tubes on his back. In this case someone who's constantly under pain meds, as TDKR Bane, is also able to go way beyond his normal capabilities, since he doesn't hear it when his body tells him to stop.
@steelerfan Get back at your nephew wid summa that! ;-)

A J
@Walt Well, you do not have to be. I also tried for hours, but couldn't find. The closest one was Vault of Horrors.

@NapoleonWilson Nolan changed almost each of them but kept the impact

A J
@Walt These movies might be typical to find.
Southbound(2016) Holidays(2016) Dreadtime Stories(2015) ABC's Of Death 2.5(2016) The Horror Network(2016)...
I also went through this list.

8:43 AM
@AJ I can see that from ur comments

@AJ This one was also kinda impossible since the film didn't actually exist. From their answers, it seems the OP has no problem finding movies, so we're probably talking about high levels of obscurity
Or maybe they got a key element wrong (it's not an elevator or not a salesman etc.), that happens often

A J
@Walt Perhaps it is.

I will keep Edward Scissorhands over it

@AnkitSharma It might be a bit dated, it is almost 30 years old
And I recall you don't like old films

A J
@AnkitSharma Your question is on HNQ.

8:50 AM
@Walt Yeah but I have many exceptional cases

Hah! My question has the best ratio of score per views.

@AnkitSharma Basically, they mentioned Beetlejuice only 3 times on the show: Once in season 1, once in season 2 and once on a Halloween episode in season 3, and a guy in a Beetlejuice costume then appeared in the background. Dan Harmon is a nut.

@NapoleonWilson Is it some kind of teasing O.o
@Walt wow, nice nod
@MovieReel WE had this thanos question , I am pretty sure or I am mixing stuff again

@AnkitSharma No, I just noticed that.

@NapoleonWilson Ohhh, to me it's bit random

8:57 AM
@AnkitSharma Anyway, I admit the plot is a bit nonsensical and bizarre. It gets top points for creativity, some dark themes and the titular character, though

I have question with 152K views with 25 votes but highest voted one have 78k views with 42 votes

Well, I have one with 15 views and 3 votes. ;-)

@Walt Tim always go bit bizarre but that is more of a charm of his work
@NapoleonWilson me too but it's too recent, will change soon

@AnkitSharma My top rated answer is basically a couple of quotes from Wikipedia and TvTropes. I'll never get HNQs, but we probably discussed this ad nauseam

@Walt That is kinda 18+.

I was never into anime all that much

@AnkitSharma But sure, I might happen to know it, or someone else might. Go ahead

@Walt Anyway I'll remove it if it bothers anyone here.
@AnkitSharma It is not porn. Just an American comedy movie. Like American Pie.

Do you have your parents' consent? ;) If so, try to sidestep any potentially offensive words, I guess. I'm sure it would be OK

In the trailer, there is a girl and boy (perhaps the lead stars). The girl's breasts are lactating and she doesn't have a baby. Because of too much milk, her shirt gets kinda wet. She has to take the milk out, but does not want to waste it. So she asks the boy to suck'em and takes her shirt off. Boy refuses to kiss her breasts. So she takes milk in a jug, and asks him to consume it all. That is where trailer ends. I watched trailer on TV about 7 years ago and this movie was going to be aired soon.

@AJ Didn't Neighbors have a scene like this? It's not 7 years old, though

@AJ holy moly mother of shit bizarre prony scenario

A much better answer to a question that probably doesn't deserve it.

@Walt Really O.o

A J
@Walt Though I saw trailer 7 years ago, but movie can be older than this.
@AnkitSharma That's why I hesitated at first.

@AJ I think we had more bizarre ID film too one with monstrous cock too I think

9:17 AM
@AnkitSharma Yeah, with Rose Byrne, probably using prothetics. Strange scene

A J
@AnkitSharma Wouldn't this question hit HNQ?

@NapoleonWilson And then there is a accepted answer from a person who doesn't know what MCU even supposed to mean
@AJ I don't know. I just make fun joke on HNQ and I obviously not an expert on it

Q: How did Joker survive the helicopter crash?

papakiasHow did Joker survived the helicopter crash after he pushed Harley Quinn out of the helicopter? The crash seemed impossible to survive from.

@AnkitSharma Probably this is why it has +3/-3
@AnkitSharma Just kidding.

@AJ OK. Sounds like some American Pie knockoff
Or something with Rob Schneider. Maybe those Gigolo films?

9:25 AM
@Walt There's more than one?

@NapoleonWilson Sadly yes

A J
@Walt I watched American Pie series. It is not among them.

@AJ Can't think of a similar scene off the top of my head. There's some lactating stuff in Shoot Em Up which is ludicrous but not strictly a comedy

A J
@Walt Another thing. He also tries to drink it, but vomits later.

@AJ This is sounding more and more like Terms of Endearment. Unless I'm remembering it wrong

@Walt Can you give a link to Wikipedia or IMDb page? I am confused here.

@AJ Just some wry humor. Ignore me ;)
I don't know what this is, but it sounds, er, lovely. Do you want me to look it up for you?

A J
@Walt Yes please. @NapoleonWilson @AnkitSharma If it is ok, I can post it on main site.

@AJ Sure, someone else might know. You can add a disclaimer or something

@Walt Seems like it have no Wikipedia page and google pointing me more to Amitabh Bachchan's family tree

@AJ Post what?

9:40 AM
@NapoleonWilson this

Meh, is it detailed enough?
If anything, you don't have to ask chat for allowing you to post a question. If it doesn't suffice quality guidelines, it will just get downvoted and/or closed.

@AnkitSharma Doesn't seem to be on IMDb either, weird. It's on plenty of anime sites, though. Also called Baby Grandma.
@NapoleonWilson Oh, right, don't forget to add an approximate year and country\language. That usually goes a long way

@Walt I have seen this with few more anime too

A J
@NapoleonWilson Well, it was 18+. So..
@Walt I'll search it again at home and if no success, then I'll ask.

@NapoleonWilson I know about 1 sequel not checked myself
