They figured out who was killing everyone, so why did the ghost/monster show up and closed her laptop in the end? I tried to find what i could but i just cant find anything.
I have asked this question, originally on Scifi and Fantasy. After a bit of discussion, it was voted that it should be migrated to english.stackexchange, but was for some reason migrated here.
Yes, this is fair enough, there is some level of relevance, since this is about a line that appears in...
I found this sweatshirt:
It was labelled "Lord Goku". I tried doing a google search to discover what the go is, but to no avail.
So why does he have 5 eyes??
I saw a movie about 10 years ago. I saw it on a french channel (but
it could have been dubbed into French). These are the things that I
remember from the movie, but I would like to know the name of the
movie. There is a man and a lady who are exploring a bunch of rooms
in search for a briefcas...
My friend was trying to remember the name of a movie he saw in france when he was younger (early 2000s?) in which a woman becomes obsessed with her roommate, eventually leading to sexual intercourse, and out of some sort of surrealist plot twist the woman reveals her miniature parents...does this...
Well, the title is self explanatory.
The first three mad max movies takes place in dystopian Australia as it is specifically mentioned here. But in fury road, I haven't seen any specific mention about where it takes place.
So does it take place in dystopian Australia? If not, where does it take pl...
I am searching for years.. I am looking for a movie about a guy who is making a lot of sport with wooden rings like these.
Plot: I think the movie is in the 90s. The main character needs motivation to do his sport. His class mates are better then him. After a while he is seeing an old man on ...
This particular scene entered my head the other day and I can't figure out where it's from.
As best as I can recall, a young boy/man (maybe late teens or early twenties) comes alone to dodgy area of a city. All I can guess is that it was New York, but assuming that is the case I can't think if h...
The story of All Is Lost begins with Our Man's boat getting hit by an abandoned shipping container, which breaches the boat's hull and thus sets in motion his quest for survival and ultimately the sinking of his boat. In retrospect though, the real devastating event is the storm he runs into, dur...
I'm looking for a particular Star Trek episode. In this episode some crew members are holograms that were created to resemble the original humans. I'm not sure whether the holograms know in the beginning that they are holograms or not.
In the end they do know about it. They find out that they ha...
@NapoleonWilson Did you like the movie "All is lost"? I tried watching it, I only got through about half an hour. I was bored with no dialogue. I just wanted another opinion. If it's worth it, I will give it another try.
@AnkitSharma does it get better after half an hour? It was really hard for me to sit through no dialogue and watching Robert Redford try to fix his boat.
@AnkitSharma I am wondering if someone is going to ask the question "what was in the federal express box?" :) unless, of course it has already been asked here.
I know that the package sympolizes the hope for Tom Hank's character to not give up and to give him a "mission": to survive and deliver the package.
But I read somewhere (in a behind the scene interview, or a trivia), that the package contained a celluar-powered, water-proof, satellite phone.
I...
@DrRDizzle Uh, well, we don't have that current topic challenge (which motivated me to rewatch All Is Lost and ask a question about it that motivated this chat) right now for no reason. So you see, this chat is apparently inspired by the movie you're referring to. ;-)
@AnkitSharma I think it depends on the person. My husband was killed in a car accident last November, I am still devastated about it, let alone thinking about getting into another relationship. I guess it depends on the person.
Yeah, I'm already planning for Gravity this week, too. And maybe also Castaway. And I haven't seen 127 Hours at all yet. If I can't watch the friggin' Martian yet, I need to help the challenge in a different way then.
Well, being myself the child of a widdow who started a new relationship about 1 year after becoming a widdow, which still holds after 20 years (albeit without marriage), I can't say this seems that unusual to me. But I'm not able to say if I and the possible security really was the reason more than her feelings, but it certainly wasn't detrimental to anyone.
The actual question seems to be if she (the Castaway lady now) genuinely knew he was dead or not, but I think she opted to believe that in order to close the matter and just move on, seeing how low upto impossible his survival chances were.
FYI, the legal declaration of death in absentia happens much more quickly when the person was involved in typically fatal circumstances, such as a plane crash (which happens in Cast Away).
@NapoleonWilson My condolences for losing your father. It is different for different people. Your mother had more people to think about in her decision to re-marry (you or any siblings). I think it depends on the person and the situation.
Seeing that she was and is a working mom (well, not so much praciticing mom anymore really) and had strong support from family and friends she could probably have handled it alone anyway. And since they do seem to fit together very well even after 20 years I'd say it was more a decision of the heart than based on security, but it probably helped that I did get along with my quasi stepfather sufficiently well.
@NapoleonWilson Yeah, my husband and I didn't have children, so it is somewhat a different situation. I will never re-marry. At least that is how I feel about it at the moment.
I gotta get going. See ya @NapoleonWilson @AnkitSharma @DrRDizzle
@NapoleonWilson surely it does depend on person to person but I did seen decision made on basis of security. Even in my relative which didn't gone right. And I do feel it should be based on love and understanding.
sorry for my inability to be factual i will look for the respective seasons and episodes and come and back it up soon
I do not know why this serie is a hit, it contradicts itself always in respect to jack -(maybe i am mad and over-reacting) but why am i upset.
In Season 1 jacks family got kid...
I saw this movie once at my Grandma's house, probably in the late 90's early 00's on what was most likely the Sci-Fi channel. Unfortunately, I don't know any of the actors or actresses, and I only remember snippets. Also, I saw it a long time ago, and I'm not sure if all of the snippets I remem...
I saw these movie before some 15 years ago and don't remember much of anything. I only have glimpse of it, of what I remember is as follows.
Movie is set up in submarine like vehicle, extremely huge in size. I remember A big glass dome and in that hall everything is made of whole gold.
The prot...
I remember seeing this movie back in the 90s. The movie takes place in a mansion and the house is alive. Either the house invites guests or the guests break in but I remember the guests being fairly young. The house has cameras and can see what is going on inside it. I remember a swimming poo...
@AnkitSharma No, that is not what the question is asking. That's the whole point. It asks, "why does he have 5 eyes? Is that canon? Has there ever been such a version of Goku?". And if the answer is "no", then it is.
The author edited the question to reflect exactly that. I agree that the original question was pretty much off-topic, but the wording was lagrely improved.
Well, I'm admittedly not that big into the Dragon Ball Z fan scene. If it is a common internet/T-shirt meme to add extra eyes to those characters, I could see why that question might come across as crap.
A bunch of old millionaries go to a BIOTECH company to buy a young body.
At begin an old guy talk to the company owner and this ask for 5 billion dollars to participate in the process of a new young body. Then they say will have to play a game with other 9 millionaries and after the game is over...
@NapoleonWilson I agree... but I also feel that it would be better over on Anime... not that it's off-topic here, just... they're so much more knowledgeable about it there.
@AnkitSharma Well... the rubber stamp button on Photoshop is easy to use, so ... clearly, they're high-class artists.
... but seriously... the two pairs of eyes are identical, so this guy probably found an image of Goku, and rubber stamped his face from the bottom of his eyes up, and then added a sideways eye in the middle of his forehead... and probably did a color-shift to make his hair pink.
If it was art from the show, the eyes would likely be subtly different.
Yeah... the Vegeta one you posted earlier is obvious that he took the left eye, rotated it 90 degrees and then plopped it in the middle of his forehead.
I saw this film in the early 90s (likely 1992-1994) on Film International on TVOntario (basically a Canadian public broadcasting TV station). Film International basically showed foreign films every Friday night.
I believe it was a Dutch film or a Dutch director. I get the impression the film was...
I am looking for a film title but i only remember bits of it.
The film was american (i think) but i dont think it was filmed in america (possibly somewhere like japan or china)
I dont know how old the film is but i watched it in mid to late 80s. The film was in colour.
I remember it being a so...
Stupid humans. Why do they need to cross an Alien with a human, producing an awfully clumsy biped who's skull can easily be crushed (or sucked threw a penny-sized hull breach for that matter)? That can never beat the agile and robust biped/quadroped mix with their silicon skin. And this stupid womb? Ok, you don't need human carriers, but that's way slower than all those eggs. More human does not mean better you morons! Have you forgot Ash's quote from the 1st part?
Please do not read any further if you do not want the plot of the movie Triangle (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1187064/) to be known.
OK, as anyone who has seen the movie Triangle knows that the whole film is a loop. The end is where the movie begins. There is another, older movie that has the sa...
