@AndrewMartin Oh my, now that is a sunday evening, working for hours to compute the friggin escape velocity for a damn fictional planet in a damn fictional (albeit great) movie. But many thanks for this discussion, it was a fun task to do, even for such a layman in physics as me. And isn't it great that we can actually compute that stuff? Shows Kip Thorne's dedication to his movie.
