Q: How to shoot a party scene with few people?

WillMillI have about 7 people and need to give the feel of 20. I'm using a long lens, any tips or solutions?

@ChristianRau Some lovely videos regarding the ratings system, and the PG-13 rating, in America. 1) youtube.com/watch?v=O-NeJRrgoTY. 2) youtube.com/watch?v=_L8cS2GcoWg. 3) youtube.com/watch?v=nDzblNKjsO0
Really, anyone with an interest in film study should watch those.

Q: Identify this show with super enhanced memory

LiathI watched a pilot episode for an american TV show, I believe it was on DVD in the UK about 2003 but I don't know if it had just been released. In it aliens had visited Earth and helped abolish war, famine, disease etc and had been widely accepted as valuable allies. They recruited the protagonis...

Q: Lord of the Rings: Sauron's ring

user157259What are the powers of Sauron's ring? He seems to be able to build armies enslave races just fine without it. Are there any mentions in the books?

Q: Is The Hunger Games a future or alternate world?

Gunnar SödergrenI've watched Hunger Games and Catching Fire a couple of times and I can't seem to find answer to the following: Is the world of Panem our own world, but in the future, or is it a parallel world to our own? From what I've been able to deduce, I can't find a clear answer. We know that Panem lie...

Q: Why not shoot movies with stereoscopic 3d cameras instead?

DennisIsn't it easier ( and way cheaper seeing 3d conversion runs in the millions for a full movie ) to just shoot a movie using stereoscopic cameras instead of creating a shallow 3d effect via post processing ? That would give the movie a natural 3d depth that could be further optimized via post proce...

Great, now we're getting questions asking about story details for a series that doesn't begin airing for nearly another week....

@MattD Very interesting views, thank you. Didn't know much about the US rating system at all. I didn't even know there's something beyond R, I always thought R is "anything goes!".

@ChristianRau No problem.
I feel the South Park vid spells it out the best. When I saw that a couple years ago I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

Q: Cold War spy movie, where spy camera is discovered in ceiling light fixture

BrettFromLAPlease help me identify this movie. Thanks! I have a vague memory of one scene from American movie made in the 60's or 70's. The movie had a claustrophobic & paranoid style similar to "Three Days of the Condor". The scene I can recall involves an older "bad guy" double agent who runs a small s...

Q: What's that tv commercial where a lady keeps interrupting her boss to finish his sentences? ("...sandwiches!")

user14048About 5-10 years ago, there was this commercial set in an office: A female employee asks her manager whether she has been chosen to accompany him to an upcoming meeting or conference. Her boss tries to explain that one of her colleagues will be going with him instead but, every time he starts to ...

I'd really love to get my eyes on Bob Morane or Chris Colorado again, the French really knew how to make gripping and atmospheric action cartoons.

@ChristianRau You can find the latter on a well known port for people like captain jack sparrow

Q: Movie with children playing on deck of a ship, kid fall overboard

PeterI saw a few scenes of a movie (or TV show) on TV when I was young, and I can't find it on Google. The movie centers on a group of children in the 1920s or 30s. At some point they cross the Atlantic on a passenger liner, and they all leave their cabins at night to play on deck. One of the kids (a...

Bah, the last two close-voters obviously just jumped on the train without reading the damn question at all.

Reopened :)
I like the question, and I'm sure someone can find sources for costs of both or some professional making a statement on the matter

It seems we get Netflix here since September, complete with a free test month. But I still wonder if it would be worth the 8€ per month, given that I already pay for TV. But then again 8€ isn't really more than a pack of cigarillos, or 4 espressos, or 2 drinks at the bar. It's not really the world, but a monthly fee still comes with a strange by-taste for financial peace of mind. I can't seem to find a way to look at their repertiore without registering, would be interesting to know beforehand

There used to be sites which had lists of their libraries but they were notoriously unreliable because Netflix never says when they will remove something, so they just dissapear without a trace
But that's just second-hand information from Film Sack, I seem to be the only person who doesn't use it these days

Q: Movie where the life of a man and woman are connected by an arm guantlet thingy

0x499602D2This is a movie/tv show that I saw when I was really little so bear with me: This could be a movie or made-for-TV movie (English) Saw it back during the very early 2000s or late 90s. Setting: Possibly middle ages as the clothes seem to suggest that. Plot: A man wears an arm guantlet similar to ...
