Morning all

mornin

@JackDouglas Just as long as you don't try to skip it in.

mornin folks

It was morning 4 hours ago
I therefore declare it's now afternoon

Anybody know of a way to find out what unicode character I have in front of me. Some tool to paste it in or something?
firefox doesn't seem to recognize it either if I paste it in here

@JNK morning

@TomV UNICODE function in SSMS?

@PaulWhite Works brilliantly, never realized that would work even if the character is just a question mark in the query editor
thanks
Now I learned there exists a private use area in unicode :)

1:54 PM
@TomV Yeah SSMS might not always be brilliant at displaying Unicode, but it does have its uses.

4:30 PM
@dezso that so totally captures what I thought when I saw that OP
like, seriously what is he thinking

2 hours later…
6:19 PM
@MaxVernon One of his previous screenshots revealed he works/contracts for a customer of ours :)

Blue squiggly redaction could become the new freehand circle

7:15 PM
@MaxVernon "like, seriously...." what does it says after that?
@TomV that customer will need your help again soon

@Lamak I don't think he's anywhere near our project our databases. It's a big multinational so they have many things going on.
From the looks of some of his questions back then he was involved in some BI stuff and I didn't recognize any of the databases
I do recall something :)
but it'll take a good search to find the question

@Lamak Literally: "what is he thinking"

@PaulWhite don't know if you're messing with me, but thanks anyway :-)

I believe Paul deleted the comments or something, there was a comment I posted on one of his questions for the shared customer and weeks later there was "I'm not ignoring you, I'll look into it" but never heard back (on an SSAS question)

@Lamak Not messing, I wasn't certain you were asking what was struck out.

7:22 PM
Anyway I can't find it anymore

@PaulWhite yeah, that's what I thanked you. I was in fact joking about it...to make it seem like it was enough to hide what's written

@Lamak Oh! Ha ha!
@TomV I am not ignoring you, I will reply as soon as I can — marcello miorelli Oct 6 '15 at 16:05

jokes are always funnier when explained at length

@PaulWhite dude WTF
:)
how did you find that so fast?

@TomV Wasn't even deleted! I just looked at his comment history.

7:26 PM
@TomV he used an index

@Lamak Could not agree more.

@Lamak GOTO page 1; Ctrl+F; ON ERROR GOTO page 2; CTRL+F seems reasonably fast indeed, From now on it shall be called the Kiwi-index instead of a btree
I just didn't even realize I had access to his comment history

There's a lot of useful stuff 'hidden' on the Activity tab.
Actually I performed a page scan (ordered backward).

7:45 PM
@PaulWhite Luckily there was an (implicit) top 1 in the query

Goodness yes.

8:09 PM
@Lamak absolutely cannot see it. I don't know what it says. My eyes, the goggles they do nothing!
