hello, where could I find some statistic about the use of mysql? I was helping to my syster in a homewrok and her professor predicts that mysql disappears in about 5 years because of its adquicion by Oracle. I cant agree with that prediction.

Statistics about database usage is pretty hard to come by. Usually the numbers are BS PR and tend to conflict. However MySQL is insanely popular and I doubt Oracle would just shut it down. Especially since they are making money on the product.

@AaronBertrand It's a "guess my problem without any details question". My first thought would be to check the errorlog for anything that might be clearing the plan cache from time to time. That's a quick way to get compilation waits.

@JNK Yes I use SQLPrompt all the time. It gets better each new release, though it'll never be perfect I guess.

Only iPad and Windows/Mac OS at the moment. Having worked for a company that tried to get into the mobile space I can fully understand why they developed for iOS first. Android is a mess - Blizzard ooze quality and they won't want people having a negative experience on some crap $99 tablet

I played the WoW TCG, so it's all good for me :) A few of my cards are worth $750 because of their rarity (not checked recently - google for Spectral Tiger WoW TCG)
