I just had an extremely frustrating dinner with George.

It was my own fault, I kind of knew what I was getting into, but I brought up Trump.

George is brainwashed like most other uneducated, double-digit IQ voters.

I couldn't get past the birther thing because he saw a video once.

At one point I kind of thought I had a breakthrough when he acknowledged that the people who deny we ever landed on the moon are tinfoil hat society members.

I almost brought him with me to make the leap that birthers are just that frigging nuts.

But partly because I couldn't suppress my disdain, we almost came to an actual fight over it. Thankfully, we were distracted because he hadn't yet seen the trailer for season seven. He's as excited as I am.

My cat is being a nutcase. I'm using Dragon in otherwise silent room. She is quite sure that I am talking to her, so every syllable must be combined with a vigorous, cat loving stroke.

We did something really funny just a few hours ago. She has two bowls, one for water, one for kitty kibble.

@ElendilTheTall not seriously, he considers the fact that he made it through the Chronicles of Narnia pretty impressive.

So when I went to feed Kitty today, I accidentally put the kibble to the right of the water, instead of to the left. I've had her now for two months. Quite obviously the kibble belongs to the left of the water. She looked at her bowls, looked at me, and quite clearly asked if I was frigging nuts.

"Well, I'm going out"

"Keys?"

Not last time, but the time before last that George was here Kitty had gotten under the foot of the recliner without either of us noticing. George sat up and Kitty has not forgiven him since.

That big man tried to kill me with the chair.

She has sat on his belly for hours on end, but not since the chair incident.

I'm really counting on Kitty getting over it because I need to trim her nails - that's a two-person job.

I also need to buy her a scratching post before she destroys my bed. I can't get upset with her, cats need to scratch, it's my bad that she doesn't have a scratching post. I will order one for her this weekend from Amazon. Free two-day shipping to Ripley's Results. WooHoo

Oh one other thing about George I may not have ever mentioned - He's Mexican.

Yep. It's extremely headshaking. At least he does find the concept of a wall ridiculous.

During our lively discussion, he asked me how I feel about Obama. I told him that I think history will treat Obama pretty well, we haven't had an administration with such little scandal since Carter.

That started a tirade blaming Obama for things that Obama didn't do. He hates Obama. But then he said the craziest thing - he calls Kennedy the best president we have had in recent history.

Ummm... Dear, Kennedy and Obama had virtually identical philosophies.

But as far as anyone knows, Obama was able to keep it in his pants.

We have more parties, they just don't have a chance in most elections.

I really need to just accept the fact that I am not going to wave a magic wand and give this particular friend brain cells. Hopefully the Trump administration will implode soon, leaving a fairly impotent Pence.

Or, perhaps Pence will show some sense after he is out from behind Trump.

I would kind of hope that Pence would crash and burn along with Trump, but there's no hope in sight in the entire line of succession.
