8:15 AM
"Greetings from the infirmary."

Oh now what

Two ugly colds and one GI infection.
Even my cleaning lady called in sick.
Guess who's holding the fort...

You're about talking me out of the whole foster kid thing.

I'll take flight later. Under the pretext of buying ingredients for chicken soup.

Good plan!
I'm out of here at 1 AM. I think I really want to watch this:
That's an hour and a half from now,
Who am I kidding??
I'll be lucky to make it half that
But that still looks like something I would enjoy watching.
I think Martin is Morgan's son. He had a bit part in Shawshank Redemption.

8:31 AM
Freeman & Freeman?

Yeah

but that's the "hobbit Freeman", iirc.
And no, not a son.

Martin played a small role in Shawshank, and he also "played" Red's mug-shot.
@Stephie not him? Oh well... Is Morgan's son named Marvin?
Something like that.
I have to admit that I'm fading fast.

Martin: British actor: Bilbo Baggins, Watson...

LOL Morgan's son is named Alfonso.
Not even remotely close!

8:40 AM
@Jolenealaska Martin can't be Morgan's son. Its impossible...
He dosen't have the voice

The other day in the parking lot of the grocery store, I overheard one guy telling another that there is no way he could get a decent car for 1000 bucks.
Hmm hmmm
Giddyup for the nation, and runs like Morgan Freeman's voice.
The key is watching Craigslist every 15 minutes :)

I actually paid $1,100 for it. It's nice to feel lucky once in a while!
It has all the luxury bells and whistles. In 2001 it sold for $35,000 ($50,000 in today's money), and is clean and smooth! Low mileage too, considering its age.

;p
My friend's selling a 92 honda... with hood painted in blackboard paint

8:56 AM
@JourneymanGeek is a box of chalks included in the offer?

@Stephie I believe so yes

Since my hood is white, can I treat it like a whiteboard?

800 usd it seems

That could be fun.

@Jolenealaska Presumably ;p

9:03 AM
I'll have to ask at the craft store. I had an idea about an Alaskan flag, but I've abandoned it. The car is just too classy for that.
But yet it still has a white hood, while the rest of the car is bronze.

You should get a decal for your business on it ;p

That would have been fun a few years ago. Today I just can't. I meet dogs in the real world and connect with them. I can't handle more than that.
I've already recently been put the position where had to turn business away.
What a weird feeling that is!
"I'd gladly take your money today, for some dog training on Tuesday!"
Oh please somebody get the reference
Don't allow me to feel this old :-(

9:19 AM
Sorry...

Well, I can probably cut you some slack for being out of the country.

I'd probably claim the same

You too...
J. Wellington Wimpy, generally referred to as Wimpy, is one of the characters in the long-running comic strip Popeye, created by E. C. Segar in 1934 and originally called Thimble Theatre, and in the Popeye cartoons based upon the strip. Wimpy was one of the dominant characters in the newspaper strip, but when Popeye was adapted as an animated cartoon series by Fleischer Studios, Wimpy became a minor character; Dave Fleischer said that the character in the Segar strip was "too intellectual" to be used in film cartoons. Wimpy did appear in Robert Altman's 1980 live-action musical film Popeye, played...
His oft repeated line was, "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday, for a hamburger today."

Ah....

9:26 AM
And if you grew up watching 60s after-school television in the US, you would know that.
I don't think I can stay up anymore. Now that I think of it, this is been a really long day!
Good night all. As is my custom, you may see me again in a few hours (or minutes).

Good night, jojo!

9:52 AM
@Stephie Still here?

@ElendilTheTall sure!
Playing Florence Nightingale...

@Stephie bless your cotton socks

<shrugs>

"I just show up and let the lord work through me"

I just hope that they won't "share" their various viruses too much. Especially not with me.

10:04 AM
Hazmat suit
Negative pressure system
Chicken soup

@ElendilTheTall I have been known to use distinctivelv non-christian language these days....

Islamic?
:D

Haha.
But coughing + wandering around in pajamas and barefoot on stone floors raises my hackles, for example.
Are your offspring ok, @ElendilTheTall?
Looking forward to Christmas?

10:35 AM
Yeah, they're OK.
Isildurette is definitely looking forward to it
Anarion is still more or less unaware

>_>
@ElendilTheTall Oh, damn my karma. I must have been terrible in a previous life....

10:52 AM
@JourneymanGeek just a convenient trend ;-)
Seriously, you can believe whatever you choose to.

@Stephie Oh, I was meaning that jokingly

I know ;-)

(I'm the sorta hindu who dosen't go to the temple except on super special festivals ._.)

Ah. Very comon approach among German Christians, too.

Hi Everyone

10:56 AM
Hi

hi!
And welcome! Don't think I've seen you here before, @VishalKumarSahu?
(but that may be just me and my shaky memory)

document.write('Something');
var d = document;
d.write('Something');
var w = write;
d.w('Something');

No I have not been here

ITS PROGRAMMER! GET HIM!

10:58 AM
Its first time
I need something in javascript

Oh, its JS, never mind ;p

d.w() is not working

@VishalKumarSahu ... you can't be serious
PLEASE tell me you arn't serious

Partially
I am not dude

And you are asking COOKS?

10:59 AM
No idea about cooks

I'd have you know sir, this happens to be a chatroom for a cooking site.

d.[w]('Something'); is not working too...

And as someone of indian decent, I'm somewhat embarassed by this.

Seriously :D

You really should learn how to ask questions, and more importantly, where.

11:00 AM
I searched for JS
but

<leans back and enjoys the show>

THIS IS A COOKING SITE!

and this room was listed
Sorry
Ciao Fellas

TBH, I'd have been a lot less shocked if it was a site even remotely related to computers ;p

Are you going to tell the poor bloke that we do talk computers now and then?

11:01 AM
@Stephie >_>
No?

^_^

yeah, but not Javascript

jk

@ElendilTheTall well, I suppose that's not programming...

we're not perverts

11:03 AM
Javascript. Another word for "when I was young and didn't know better"

everyone still asks for it though

And they are welcome to. But here?

if it was PHP I might have been able to help xD

@ElendilTheTall: "You need to use a better language, kid" ;p
actually I run a ton of PHP stuff, and my personal server stuff's heavily PHP based. Its just fun to make fun of ._.

It's accessible and widely supported ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

11:09 AM
yup

I use Laravel, which helps mitigate the worst of it

and tbh, kinda is less annoying that having to run a seperate port for each thing (like python and ruby), and isn't showhorning JS into a server side language
I don't code ;p
My passion's more about hardware and the less low level side of things

there's nothing lower level than hardware...
:D

@ElendilTheTall, you know what's really making me sad?
I have this huge pot of stewed beef&mushroom for a pie.
And can't serve it.

warum?

11:17 AM
Hubby: GI trouble.
Minors: still heavy cold.

Neither is interested in real food.

portion some off for yourself, freeze the rest

That's roughly the idea.
But just as stew, not real pie.

make dumplings instead

11:19 AM
?

stew and dumplings
you still get nice comforting carbs, without having to make a pastry lid

Hm... That's an idea.

you can't beat some nice fat dumplings ;)

11:36 AM
Spätzle trumps everything!
Carb lovers unite!

hmmm
I prefer a nice herby, mustardy, moist dumpling

Next time we meet, you make dumplings & I serve Spätzle ^_^

that's just crazy talk

And we let rumi and jojo be the judges ;-)

and cindy, to break any deadlock

11:43 AM
It looks like I missed some fun!

Rumi will side with Germany, and Jojo will side with me because she's madly in lo... hello Jojo!
(¬â€¿¬)

Spaetzle rocks.
Spaetzle is super fun to make too.

ah, but you've never tried my dumplings ;)

You're killing me:)

Spätzle is just pasta with weight issues
my dumplings are tasty and satisfying

11:46 AM
@Jolenealaska, is this "not an answer" or just "spam"?

I'm famous on two continents for my dumplings.

At least it has nothing to do with zoodles.

spam

11:48 AM
I might have a benevolent day, that's the only explanation why I hesitated.

zoodles and spam and spam spam spaaaaaaaam

this is beginning to sound like a monty python song

Yeah, that's blatant
...and gone

@ElendilTheTall why I never. We'd need a few vikings then...

I'm only half awake - was thirsty
Have fun all - I may see you in a bit and not remember any of this.

11:54 AM
ok hon

2 hours later…
1:36 PM
tum tee tum
c'moooooon Friday

Only hours until this work week is over.
"C'mon, you can do this!"

Can I @Stephie? CAN I?!

Yes!
I have great confidence in your abilities.

@Stephie unfounded

@Stephie ha ha. I was actually watching that earlier... Someone posted it on Facebook.

1:51 PM
^_^
@Catija so how's our favourite FP baby doing these days?

2:07 PM
sleeping, apparently
I wonder if he does that thing all babies do
where they breath so shallowly you think... "wait. a. minute....!!!"
"oh"

<adrenalin level going through the roof>
Don't I remember....

nowadays it's more like "Guess what position they're in"
I'll quite often find my daughter upside down amongst the stuffed toys, snoring like a gutted walrus

>_>
Human babies are just like dogs.

though hopefully less hairy

Depends on the breed. Of the dog, not the baby

2:14 PM
some babies don't shed their lanugo
having said that

2:46 PM
Aaaaaand another very easy craft done.
White stars / snowflakes from paper sandwich bags.

2 hours later…
4:41 PM
@rumtscho the third book in the Stormlight Archives will be out November 2017!
first draft is finished

1 hour later…
6:03 PM
@Stephie Stuffy nose. Otherwise happy. He doesn't like it when we use the nasal syringe on him

6:23 PM
@Catija lol! He'd be the first...
Poor sweetie!
Mine undergo the full treatment - cough syrup, rub on chest and back, nose-drops, ... I'm brewing a herbal tea right now (which they will probably hate). Best part: almost unlimited TV / amazon video access.
Oh well, A spoonful of sugar... 🎶

7:30 PM
Awww. You've got quite the regimen! I'm still not sure what all I can give him. We're going to the pediatrician next week, so I'll be able to get more info but when I talked to the nurse on the phone yesterday, it seems like the saline drops and syringe is good unless he gets a fever.

Totally fine. As long as you can keep the nose sort of clear, you do the best in preventing coughs and ear infections.
Never use stuff with essential oils for babies.

Yeah. I also feel like he's not nursing quite as well but he's doing fine with the bottles at school. It will be interesting to see how nursing goes this weekend.
We got a humidifier, too!
Just water.

Cool!
Oh, if you are still bf'ing: a few drops of breast milk work great as nose drops. Not sure why, but it does.
(And yes, I know this sounds weird.)

Oh, I do that for his eyes when they're really gummy. I didn't think of trying it in his nose.

Now we have probably grossed out everyone else ;-)

7:39 PM
HA HA Its' just milk... not sure why it would be gross. People are weird about bodily fluids.

They sure are!
