1:00 PM
@Simon "that's ok man 'cause I like the abuse" is a lyric from the song :)
@kalina wat?

And good job roro, it's not 240p.

@RоryMcCune another epic rap battle of history

@kalina Ahhh I C

@Simon you're not 240p.

Indeed, I am 4k.
B)

1:00 PM
rap. hm.

@Simon so getting a bit long in the tooth now, eh?

wat

@Simon s'all about the 5K

@RоryMcCune excellent

o
I'm eating an apple a day but it doesn't keep the doctor away.
My grandpa has lied to me.

1:02 PM
@kalina you spelled "human tigger" wrong

o apparently waves support windows 10 now

Human tigger warring through the night until the morning ?

it changes very little, all of my waves purchases were impulse buys due to the last special offer they ran

Yeah Waves in general doesn't seem that great.
I did get (lolnotlegit) the OneKnob series because of the name mostly but I don't use it for shit.
The only one I might use at some point is the cutoff one.

well no because ideally you're going to make the sound good in the instrument rather than piling loads of FX on it

1:04 PM
Yep.

don't say yep like you know, you're still at the looping a kickdrum stage
:p~

RID MA PONIE

I think next year I want to try deepfrying the turkeybird.

I've decided that once I'm feeling better, the fucking around is done.

@Simon too cheesy

1:05 PM
I'll make a schedule and follow it.

"a schedule"

ovid, I really appreciate that you've reproduced the bad grammar.

please elaborate

@Simon I tried hard.

Come back from work, spend X hours on la musique on X days
Then a bit of theory reading before le bed-
Or to annoy Yves: l'bed
Here lads:

1:08 PM
#nope

@kalina #nope to Gorillaz?

well yes
but #nope to clicking a link in chat

@kalina how so , I quite like the gorillaz

I prefer ponies

OMG PONIEZ!

1:09 PM
how awesome, another application I have to have running in the background
PLZ STOP DOING THIS THANKS OMG

I think I've heard that they're doing a comeback.

@Simon I've heard this

anti-piracy is one thing but you're making a huge assumption when you think I need your control center running in the background!
ANOTHER control center

@kalina For the TrueVerb, right?

well no for the compressor I bought last time

1:10 PM
o

I have multiple solutions for reverb

@Simon fine, there is a much better sale going on at plugin-alliance.com

WOOHOO

1:13 PM
Also, I haven't installed the TrueVerb yet because I have no idea how nice it will go with the legit (lolIlied) OneKnob.
@kalina Dayum son, that's a lot of plugins.
Thing is I probably don't need any of these: the stock plugins in Logic are good enough.
WHY CAN'T I SPEND MY MONIES?!?

the brainworx stuff is pretty good

I should probably just buy Massive and that's it.

many of those are analog models

I'd probably use it for bass.

well you say that but massive isn't the komplete component I use the most

1:16 PM
o
There's no freaking sale on Komplete.
I might just end up being a bad boi.

and tbh, the komplete package is pretty comprehensive
you'd have no problem making a track entirely using sounds from komplete
you'd just lack originality

There's a plugin dedicated to strings in there, right?
I'd probably use that.

several

@Simon d'ya think they've got one for integers too?

pls roro
@kalina Any idea how much space it takes though?
If you download just the required presets and sounds.
I'm running out of space on my Macbook and I still haven't gotten rid of that stripped screw for my second HDD.

1:19 PM
:)

@RoryAlsop @AviD

@Simon its okay, I have a question to discuss regarding data recovery using photorec I'm not going to bite anyone?

Fine, shoot.

I'm seeing file where are undeleted to appear as well after running data recovery software e.g recuva

I'm sure that you're gonna be happy and agree with everything that people say in here.

1:23 PM
@Simon for the strings?

@kalina The whole thing (Komplete).

oh, fucking huge

Bleh.

@kalina thats what she said?

So I really gotta get that screw out first.

1:24 PM
@BarryCarlyon doubtful, any "fucking huge" scenario of that type would probably be speechless

@kalina giggle
YEAH I'M A GROWN MAN! I GIGGLE. WHAT OF IT?

what if you're being sarcastic?

@BarryCarlyon welcome to chat room:)

@Saladin I've been here for a while. I dip in and out now and again when chrome crashes :-P

@BarryCarlyon chrome crashes a alot. In your case I hope it does in secure manner:)

1:27 PM
lol

I actually can't find where Komplete keeps its samples

@simon well you're free to make the elision you want. I don't care that much :)

@BarryCarlyon any xmas plans?

Get drunk

mmmmm
and eat?

1:28 PM
@kalina That's fine, thanks anyway.

mmmm

I got probably 100 gb left so I'll just install the other HDD.

are you veggie?

I don't wanna delete shit because I'll be eventually running out of space.

1:29 PM
oh wow, I don't remember approving that at all
anyway, apparently all of the content has been installed in public documents
because WHY?!
and all of the executables have been installed where I wanted them to be installed
it's ~90GB of stuff
note I don't have "ultimate" though
which would add more stuff
and you do get to exclude individual products during installation

Ultimate just adds more samples/presets, right?

session strings is ~2GB
@Simon er, I think so
in all honesty I haven't used the entire package extensively, I bought it ages ago because I needed a legit copy of Massive because my cracked version had stopped working as expected

does anyone know in what case photorec completion time would increase instead of decrease with each passing minute?

and at the time, Massive was €100 and Komplete was €500
seemed sensible

1:34 PM
@kalina Isn't that the current price too?

Completion time is an estimate, as such, it's estimated
@Simon I duno, I haven't looked at the price

@kalina you talking to me?

didn't you say Massive was on sale?

Yeah.
Not Komplete though :(

I noticed.

1:35 PM
well Komplete is already a bargain IMO

I thought you were chatting with @Simon

So yup, Massive is 100$ now, usually 200.

But the 'reading sector' is looping over itself , its not adding up.

you get some nice pianos in Komplete too
and a variety of sounds that are just awesome

Ugh fine, I'll order tools which MIGHT get that damn screw out.

1:37 PM
maybe you could just get some hardware appropriate for the purpose
Komplete also benefits a lot from using the NI Komplete S keyboards

@kalina sorry to bump in but are you a musician as well?

@kalina Those aren't cheap unfortunately.
And huuuuuge.
I'd get a nice pair of monitors first.

@Simon one of those nice Dell 5K ones, right...

pls roro

lol
@RоryMcCune I'm totally in love with their 4k monitors.

1:43 PM
Nvm there's a 25 keys once.
Still 400$ though.
NI you lads are mental.

@Simon 8K or bust?

@JourneymanGeek yeah I might upgrade if/when my current monitors go, but I've got 2 27" QHD's at the moment and that's fine for me...

Don't let roro confuse you, by monitors I meant speakers and now I'm talking about keyboards.

It's a good job none of the maschines are on sale

@RоryMcCune When I get employed again, I'm thinking of getting another 4k, though not IPS
(since one of my monitors loses power every 10 minutes, then starts working again)

1:45 PM
@kalina Would you even use a sampler?

@JourneymanGeek I may got for one biig 4K, that could be quite cool, although TBH for gaming I'm kind of hoping the Oculus Rift/HTC Vive would be my next step

@Simon this is why it would have to be on sale

lulz

I'm pragmatic enough to know I don't need one
but it is covered in pretty lights and knobs

Their hardware is sooo shiny.
I KNOW!

1:45 PM
@RоryMcCune There's a nice 40" korean for not that much scratch I was looking at
but my table is already bending.

KOMPLETE HAS A TRIBAL PLUGIN?
@@@@@@@@@

@JourneymanGeek I noticed my gaming desk has started warping from the weight of my triple wide setup

so likely to go 28"

and then I realized why when I moved that room around
and had to dismantle the entire thing to move it

Ok fine I really gotta get Komplete, dayum.

1:47 PM
@Simon buying Komplete is a bit of a no brainer tbh
that's probably on purpose

@RоryMcCune funny thing is the monitor really shines for video despite there being almost no 4k content around.

I don't think anything NI sells individually is value for money but their packages are extremely good value

Rendering 4k for games is... kinda...

@JourneymanGeek intensive

@kalina That does look like it, yes.

1:48 PM
Pretty much
My 980ti wheezes a bit.

that's why I don't play games on 3 monitors

Aw I'm so sad that it's not on sale though.

@JourneymanGeek I guess video on a large monitor is kinda nicer looking..

you mean wall - monitors?

It's nice for the effect but it's not worth dropping below 60fps

1:49 PM
@RоryMcCune 27 inches, I upscale (madvr with everything turned up to 11) and IPS kinda kicks oldschool TN to the curb in terms of colour
and this is a factory caliberated screen
(and subjectively looks as good as those 1080p caliberated eizos that cost like 2 grand each on the low end)
pixel density is nice for text.

yeah my eyesight isn't really good enough to tell the difference between stock and well calibrated :op

@RоryMcCune: heh, My mom kinda goes "The colours look good" everytime she walks in. Every. Time. ;p
And erm, you can tell ;p
Especially on proper 4k stuff

such quietness...

@RоryMcCune yeah you would be able to tell
I can see the variance in between multiple of the same panel

superman vision:)

1:59 PM
Remember when you got CDs on computer magazine covers? https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspberry-pi-zero/ Well now you get full computers. https://t.co/exDIBehJuJ

Dayum that's cool.

this is not it @M'vy you need to check those medical wearable gadgets you wear as tattos on your skin that will monitor your health paired with led that blinks red and green ..
beside I have fetish for sexy arms:)

... arms?

good for you. but irrelevant to my point

#raspberrypi I got that

2:05 PM
@M'vy That thing is pretty neat. If it had some sorta networking built in though...

@JourneymanGeek well you cannot expect all for that price

It seems to be perfect to build something like a NES emulator.

Joe Walnes is ex-google? nice profile of his on twitter

@M'vy yeah. any sort of networking tho
or even gadget mode.

Do we have Andrew Smith #2 in here or what?

2:07 PM
no this one is worse

Is that even possible?

yes.

The thing is stupidly small as well :S

It is!

o pls my ween is not that small

2:09 PM
@M'vy I've said that before

@kalina must have missed it

oh well, probably not on here, wrong context

2:33 PM
lots of flags

Coming from which room?

au

I love BBC docus. They used Joy Division's Disorder as background music for the part with Jocelyn Bell Burnell finding pulsar signals in The Story of Bernard Lovell and Jodrell Bank :)

You don't love anything about BBC since the whole Top Gear drama, alright?

@Simon pls... Doctor Who, Sherlock

2:40 PM
I never really cared much for Top Gear, sorry :P

nuff said

You're all a bunch of donuts.

@Simon you're just cranky 'cause you have le cold and no chicken soup

qq
It got somewhat better though.
\o/ ibuprofen

what is top gear?

2:43 PM
baby don't downshift me
don't downshift me
no moar

@kalina a comedy program which uses cars for laughs

why would I care what some racist prick shoots out of his hip about cars?

o pls
Can we live in a world where the racist card is forbidden?

no

2:44 PM
no

that's one of the stupidest things I've ever seen you say
like, ever

so far

so far

@TildalWave meh. I kinda like May

They're all funny.

2:47 PM
Clarkson is a dingbat

But yes, whenever May says "Cock", that's usually pretty funny.

and Hammond is just.... Well he mainly exists to be the butt of the jokes

And to pilot helicopters.

And May's solo shows (toy story, cars of the people and manlab) are awesome.
Also, may leaving BBC means no more manlab :(

@JourneymanGeek Brian May?

2:50 PM
James May

pls

who?
anyway, this is pretty much the only one hour long show about cars that I've watched in the past century:
none of that BS about the size of everyone elses libido but yours (which, frankly, looks insignificant despite being in suede pants that tend to exaggerate the crotch area)

James Daniel May (born 16 January 1963) is an English television presenter and journalist. He is widely known for his years as a co-presenter of the motoring programme Top Gear alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond. May has presented other programmes on themes including science and technology, toys, wine culture, and the plight of manliness in modern times. He wrote a weekly column for The Daily Telegraph's motoring section from 2003 to 2011. == Early life == James May was born in Bristol, one of four children; he has two sisters and a brother. May attended Caerleon Endowed Junior School...
This guy is actually funny

I don't remember him in WILTY / HIGNFY / Mock the Week / 8 out of 10 cats so I can't really say, but I'd bet that anyone can appear funny next to those two mongs
Of course, HIGNFY has Paul Merton so inviting James May may be confusing :)

3:44 PM
anyone?

ho we got new foreign mod?

seems to be a day for it..

The flag madness ?

were there flags?

might have been

3:52 PM
earlier but not recently
AFAIK

I always miss the best bits

that's the beauty of web chat, you can always read back up :)

assuming I've got nothing better to do :)

function NewObject(_0x3326x2)

@TildalWave you're on here aren't you?

3:56 PM
function NewObject(a)

@RоryMcCune fair enough

its simple obfuscation using 'https://javascriptobfuscator.com/Javascript-Obfuscator.aspx'
how does '0x3326x2' equals a?

> ob•fus•ca•tion

n.
The act or process of obfuscating, or obscuring the perception of something; the concept of concealing the meaning of a communication by making it more confusing and harder to interpret.
n.
Confusion, bewilderment, or a baffled state resulting from something obfuscated, or made more opaque and muddled with the intent to obscure information.
n.
A single instance of intentionally obscuring the meaning of something to make it more difficult to grasp.

each time a code is run ''0x3326x2' changes to different set of chars but on NOT obfuscated side its same
is a

_0x3326x2 is a variable ?
^ first char is _
unless you're in some crazy language that call this an address modifier

4:03 PM
function NewObject(a)
{
    var count=0;
    this.SayHello=function(msg)
    {
          count++;
          alert(prefix+msg);
    }
    this.GetCount=function()
    {
          return count;
    }
}
var obj=new NewObject("Message : ");
obj.SayHello("You are welcome.");
var _0x270b=["\x53\x61\x79\x48\x65\x6C\x6C\x6F","\x47\x65\x74\x43\x6F\x75\x6E\x74","‌\x4D\x65\x73\x73\x61\x67\x65\x20\x3A\x20","\x59\x6F\x75\x20\x61\x72\x65\x20\x77\x‌65\x6C\x63\x6F\x6D\x65\x2E"];function NewObject(_0x3c52x2){var _0x3c52x3=0;this[_0x270b[0]]=function(_0x3c52x4){_0x3c52x3++;alert(prefix+_0x3c5‌2x4);};this[_0x270b[1]]=function(){return _0x3c52x3};}var obj= new NewObject(_0x270b[2]);obj.SayHello(_0x270b[3]);
@M'vy yes its a parm inside a fun

by all the cheese gods, please mind your abbreviations!

@TildalWave ??
parm ?

parm inside a fun?

its not allowing me to edit it.
sorry guys
the NewObject(_0x3c52x2) changes on every obfuscation call while x2 remains constant.

the table is basically "SayHello" "GetCount" "Message : " and "You are welcome"

4:09 PM
yes @M'vy thanks the first part i understand

what is the problem, it's just a variable name

the echo messages. But should I not be translate it back to 'a'?

a pretty awful one btw.

so you saying these are arbitrary names that are known to obfuscation code.
much like a temp variable they be anything have little effect on logic on actual code right?

All things are well defined.
_0x3c52x3 is count
_0x3c52x4 is msg
_0x3c52x2 is a

4:18 PM
now its clear @M'vy I was thinking too hard I thought instead of just arbitrary names they were just some form of hex or octal conversions

var _0x270b=["\x53\x61\x79\x48\x65\x6C\x6C\x6F","\x47\x65\x74\x43\x6F\x75\x6E\x74","\x4D\x65\x73\x73\x61\x67\x65\x20\x3A\x20","\x59\x6F\x75\x20\x61\x72\x65\x20\x77\x65\x6C\x63\x6F\x6D\x65\x2E"];

function NewObject(_0x3c52x2) {
    var _0x3c52x3=0;
    this[_0x270b[0]]=function(_0x3c52x4) {
        _0x3c52x3++;
        alert(prefix+_0x3c52x4);
    };
    this[_0x270b[1]]=function() {
        return _0x3c52x3};
}

var obj= new NewObject(_0x270b[2]);obj.SayHello(_0x270b[3]);
This is your code, modulo the variable names. string encoding and a bit of vodoo function definition

thanks for demystification @M'vy :)

yw

I don't wanna eat your brains out. It would be rude. I 'm looking at cryptwall obfuscation of js is it normal practice for trojan / worm code writer to write their own obfuscation logic?

whatever works

4:22 PM
mmmm
@M'vy do you know of a fuzzy logic tool for universal de-obfuscation?

not at all

for each its own! right I guess

4:38 PM
Obfuscation of javascript serves no purpose except to be malicious
Anyone trying to obfuscate their code is either a complete moron, or a malware author
2

1 hour later…
5:49 PM
@MarkHulkalo Note that it is physically possible to be a malware author AND a complete moron at the same time.

Guess who went to the toy store

@Lighty me

Both I guess then :P

@Lighty dude there's someone's name on that paper

@TildalWave I know
My name o.o

6:01 PM
well as long as it's not sex change request papers I guess you're safe here LOL

@TildalWave Don't worry about that one, If I wanted a sex change I'd just hand @kalina a knife, cheaper and faster

careful with that kind of talk you might give @Simon a horn
2

@TildalWave Well played Sire

6:26 PM
Evening gents

awright

7:28 PM
wot

@Simon U wot m8
anyone had any experience of nethserver?
thinking of trying it on my new firewall/gateway box...

8:10 PM
Has Rory had chance to play CODBLOPS 3 yet?

1 hour later…
9:54 PM
damn, 53 mentions

You're 53 mentions.

@ThomasPornin Agreed.

10:14 PM
Now someone's shooting up Planned Parenthood
CAN WE GO A WEEK WITHOUT A MASS SHOOTING PLEASE
Man. I was supposed to be in Colorado Springs today
glad I kept driving :/

@NateKerkhofs yes. I like it

Groping is pretty disgusting
How much of a damn loser do you have to be to grab someone like that? Beware of Chikan.

10:30 PM
gents
@MarkHulkalo plus I don't understand why you would do it, the whole point of touching someone is to know they enjoy it no?

Exactly. Nothing's sexier than someone wanting me to touch them.
Which never happens :p

10:48 PM
yes, but we are normal folks
Well, I am
You guys probably are
I guess
Lol

11:38 PM
looks around shiftily Yep, I'm definitely normal as well.
