I get the sense (can't give this much time, I'm afraid, and things get murky!) that enegue is conflating English "only = except" with "only = alone", and ki 'im isn't English "only"! There is scope for a bit more on nebalah, imo. For the "sentiment", contrast Ex 32:10. Saebo's brief comments on this text are perceptive: TLOT (ed. Westermann, Jenni), vol. 2, p. 712 + lit. cited.
