@PaulVargas Accordance. But for those who are not Mac users my understanding is that Bibleworks (talk to Davïd) or Logos (talk to Dan...or whatever his name is these days) are probably better options. (I'm sure there are plenty of other people around here who use these and other software; those just happen to be the people I know of.)
@Davïd I'm glad to hear you think so. If it weren't my question (one that's been bugging me quite a lot), I think I would agree with ScottS's opinion that it's overly speculative and probably pointless, but if someone can offer a meaningful response I may change my mind.

@Davïd OK, you've convinced me. :) In retrospect, I'd probably have done better to ask what he was alluding to from the Hebrew bible rather than what words he spoke, but it honestly hadn't occurred to me that there was another good option. This is why we ask questions.

@Susan Your question got at the heart of it nicely, I think. We get a little precious sometimes (and sometimes we're right to!). Possibly some of the "push-back" on your question also came from a position that sees Ex 3:14 as settling the matter.
@Susan But it doesn't, as I hope the answer demonstrates. (Whether anyone here finds it convincing is another matter! But the "reception history" of Williams's work is overwhelmingly positive.)

@Librarian @Susan - How on earth did the question on Main go from 3 VtC to 4!!?? I'm utterly baffled.

12:30 PM
@Davïd I'm kind of confused by that one too. The review queues don't show answers when reviewing question posts so that might be part of it.

A: Is this question passable?

DavïdI have already added an answer on "main", and UV'ed here. The question is a (better than) good one. Perhaps there was a slightly better way of framing the question, although OP's tweak from "actually" to "likely" headed in a good direction. ;) The main points I want to make on Meta are: This q...

^^^ In the "FWIW", £0.02, YMMV, etc. category.

@Davïd @Caleb I know I retracted my close vote after reading the answer of @Davïd, which showed me that in this case there was enough evidence to argue what may well have been uttered in speech (assuming Hebrew was spoken, rather than Greek).

@ScottS Thank you for your input on this and your follow-up question (+1). It looks like several others have been convinced to retract their VTC on the original as well. I've already learned quite a bit more than expected, both about ἐγώ εἰμι and about how to pose questions on BH.SE.

@ScottS - Did you make up the tag ? I may go back and re-tag a couple others like this, but just to clarify - you meant "extra-biblical (historical) usage of X terminology"?
