and I wonder if this rigol hack thing is really running on the same hardware or if they have wider tolerances for thsoe that are sold as 50mhz variants...

@PlasmaHH Dave Jones has worked on reverse engineering the front end, and it looks like there are several digitally controlled low-pass filters

enough to make sense for the normal 20MHz cutoff, 50MHz, and 70MHz.

@W5VO yeah, I read something about that too, and some people claim that when you install the 100mhz option they will be tuned to 100mhz and everything is fine... I was mostly wondering if there are some quality/calibration things that were not passed so something gets the 50mhz stamp.... I saw no credible source yet that compared a "real" 100mhz with the hacked 50 one
