@jippie safety . . like autoshut off probably and one that has a way you can set it down safely so it doesn't point at you

Anybody know where to get a 10-14 GHz VCO that doesn't need more than 5 V for tuning?

5:40 PM
Alternate question: what's the lowest-noise way to generate a 15 V supply (for maybe 10 mA) from a 3.3 or 5 V supply?

almost wonder if you could use a switched cap voltage multiplier or something like that

@W5VO Doesn't that have similar noise issues to a boost converter? Or is it better? I think my current requirement can probably work with switched-cap.

@ThePhoton I dunno... a boost converter is nicer to your input supply.... but I think you care more about your output? You could always pass it through a linear regulator on the output to help with some PSRR

Besides Maxim, do you know who makes charge-pump converters?

no
that was who I was going to look at

...TI has them, but Vout(max) is 11 V.
...
Could muck around with split supplies...

Going through digikey I found this part: linear.com/product/LT3048-15

I'll check it out

looks like linear also makes a charge pump + linear regulator for +/-15V, but it sounds like you don't need that
