@AntonStrogonoff it isn't working because of the nature of those links
they are mime typed for download rather than display
@AntonStrogonoff straigtened
hands down

@AJHenderson thanks for your inputs. Where is Mr Rfucsa; i havent seen him around this channel.
About User-friendly point: I dont mean comfortable. I wanted to ask that when a camera is put into Auto mode across different manufacturer/model for a specific scene, are all cameras make same kind of setting/they do differ?
internally
so which camera are better when put into Auto mode/
?
producing good results of scene.
thinking from an angle/viewpoint who dontknow about photography & clicking a photo
from a entry level DSLR camera/equivalent
so did you find your wife's phone?
whcih steps you have taken care to prevent identity theft?

@jackopen From that viewpoint, the best photo is done with heavy instagram filters

@AJHenderson which kind of app/software would be helpeful in such case?
of theft
to back up data/make it safe?
@EsaPaulasto that is i think after photo is taken in computer; right?

4:30 AM
There's some filters inside a camera too, like sepia, b&w, vivid, etc... not quite instagram style, but thereabouts ;)

yes i have came across such terms earlier.
so instagram site has wonderful filters than others?
@EsaPaulasto
@AJHenderson do you think finding a phone is an impossible task for police?
i also lost once my wife's phone & i recovered after 1 year with help of my friend's friend who was in police.

@jackopen A camera set into Auto mode does indeed produce slightly different results depending on the camera brand and model. Color intensity, contrast, sharpening. Those kind of things differ from make and model to the next one.

as per him it is very easy task to locate a phone once a phone is switched on.
@EsaPaulasto so out of D3100/1200D which one can produce best result in Autom mode? is there any site to compare?
auto mode results?

First you need to define the term: "best result". That's something that everyone has an opinion to.

i mean better

Vivid colors and rather high overall contrast seems to please the general public, but that is highly generalized thing to say. In some cases, the opposite is found very pleasing, meaning a flat contrast and low color intensity photograph looks "artistic" and may be favored over a vivid photo. There really is no such thing as "best" or even "better" photo in general.
But if you must try to please the masses, then use Vivid setting in your camera.
^^ advice given for both Canon and Nikon cameras ;)

thank you
i am not sure why dpreview.com/reviews/… this link doesnt have any sample images from 1200D canon

@jackopen auto mode is auto mode, I don't expect substantial difference between camera models of similar type if using full auto mode
but you really don't get a whole lot out of a DSLR on full auto mode
@jackopen no, it has not been recovered yet
@jackopen locking out any accounts that were compromised with new passwords
so that they can't use it to communicate as her
@jackopen if the radios are switched off, yes
if they turn on the radios, no
but the first thing the thief did was turn off the radios
and even if recovered, it doesn't change that the information was left in the wind, so nothing on the phone is safe anymore regardless
so recovery is a distant secondary concern
I could really care less about the device itself
or rather couldn't care less

ithanks @AJHenderson what would be better result P & S , mirrorless or Automode DSLR?

@jackopen depends on what you are shooting
but in general a DSLR is going to have a harder time focusing in pure auto than either a small mirrorless or a p&s
because of the larger sensor and smaller depth of field
the image quality will be a little better if it is in focus
but the focus will be far more sensitive
so there is less room for error and focusing on the wrong thing will be more common on a DSLR
and to clarify on my auto mode is auto mode comment, the images will look visually a bit different depending on the preset you use, but which is "better" is purely subjective
both cameras have sensors capable of taking equally good pictures if they are around the same price range
and same camera class
@jackopen personally, I use Lookout Mobile Security
which works great if they get the phone in a locked state and/or you can initiate a remote wipe before they have a chance to disable the radios
but unfortunately my wife gave them the phone in an unlocked state
so radio disabling was easy to do immediately and all the lock out protections were bypassed
since the phone was unlocked when they got it
but alas, it is my bed time (actually, significantly after my bedtime)

@AJHenderson The way this was asked made me think of JPEG mode and to see the end result as the thing to be compared between makes and models.
The JPEG photo taken in Auto mode is different depending on which camera you use. I know what you mean by "auto mode is auto mode, no difference" but then you dismiss more than half of the image making process done by the camera.
@AJHenderson That's more like it. And then there's the difference in dynamic range and sensitivity to colors and suchlike. The color red for example is quite different between Canon and Nikon, at least those Nikon models that use Sony sensors.
I have to say I don't like the way Sony sensors handle red color :(

i foudn this site
which has different images modelwise
but still not found the same image to compare among differnet camera models

@EsaPaulasto I have a tendency to over-simplify when dealing with someone who doesn't need the full technical breakdown :)
I know it drives Michael Clark up a wall sometimes
but yeah, the original meaning was simply, rather than getting caught up on "which sensor is better" (which is subjective and impossible to really measure) the focus should be on which you like more
the sensors are effectively the "same" even if they are different
since there is no meaningful way to give major distinctions between similar sensors in an objective manner once they are close enough in camera price and type
when there's bigger price differences you have objective measures like better low light performance or better resolution
but once you get in close, you have "this one's a little more red", "this one's a little more blue", "this one makes JPEGs that are a little more saturated"
and there is no longer a "better"
so they are effectively "the same"
@jackopen yeah, that's really just an index of flikr
useful site, but just categorizing stuff based on EXIF data

Lego bricks and a camera = endless source of fun :)
